My last ones lasted ages but eventually developed a fault but that was primarily due to a highly corrosive environment I use mine in and nothing to do with quality of the scales. They are surprisingly rugged! Good accurate balance. Only slight negative is that if you are standing looking down at the display it is not visible. You have to look at it from an angle.
