However, despite her adorable exterior and near-universal popularity, a disturbing tale surrounding the origins of Hello Kitty exists online and claims that claims the character is actually the result of a deal with the devil. But as my daughter moved toward high school and more mature pursuits, her infatuation naturally cooled.
