About this deal

I know that Burial was making an homage to the dance music he grew up listening to/sort of hearing or remembering outside of clubs, and it sounds almost disrespectful to say it, but this is much more than a dance music album.

In my opinion the only downside is that the 2x12" does not include some of the shorter compositions as "Untitled", "Ghost Hardware", "In McDonalds" and "Dog Shelter" which are included on the CD. Records that aren't in picture sleeves will either be in a company sleeve or a generic plain sleeve. In fact, so reluctant is he to engage with the cult-of-personality hoopla that surrounds almost every modern producer and musician of merit, that he remains a genuine recluse; he has never appeared live, only one obliquely-angled publicity photograph is known to exist, and the number of interviews he has given can be counted on the fingers of one hand. This album is so simplistic and minimal, yet manages to convey so much emotion, and that’s not to mention the genius samples used in every tune. In the resulting no man’s land , lyrics take precedence over song, lonely phrases colour the haze, a stark and fragmented structure makes time slow down.he's not setting out to hurt people" promises one lonely voice, out of the gloom--it's a record that flows remarkably, a journey through a lonely metropolis that's both melancholy and strangely uplifting. Soshi Hosoi - Mister Diviner [the Mahjong Touhaiden] Kode9 Remix / Koichi Ishibashi - Bad Data [dezaemon] Kode9 Remix / Yuzo Koshiro - Temple [actraiser] Kode9 Remix / Tadahiro Nitta - An-Un (Ominous .

This complete vinyl pressing includes euphoric “Dog Shelter” and “In McDonalds” plus early single “Ghost Hardware” and the untitled intro track, which were previously only available on CD and digital versions of the album. My pre-owned copy is a little scratched up, but the pops just blend into the dusky haze of this music so well that it’s not distracting. Kode9's most ambitious work yet as a multi-disciplinary artist, ‘Escapology’ is the soundtrack album to the sonic fiction ‘Astro - Darien’, itself soon to be released on Hyperdub sub-label Flatlines.

Escapology’ reconfigures ‘Astro-Darien's tense, off-world atmospheres into slices of high definition, asymmetric club rhythms, woven through thrilling sound design and vertiginous sonics. Burial's classic Untrue album on double vinyl - black inner sleeves and 180g vinyl in a thick card sleeve. The wide range of emotions going through your mind while listening this album are both fascinating and confronting. Now pressed on 180g vinyl, updated to add the beatless atmospheric tracks that have always been integral parts of the complete CD versions, and also including unique codes for free download. The album continues with the debut's crackle-drenched yearning and bustling syncopations, haunted by the ghosts of rave, but also reveals some new Burial treats with a more glowing, upbeat energy. Much speculation surrounded the identity of Burial, the creator of Untrue and its predecessor, 2006's eponymous Burial ––speculation quashed when its maker dropped the mask and revealed himself to be William Bevan, a fairly ordinary South Londoner who was just quite fond of making and releasing tunes without all the surrounding fuss.
