About this deal

Note: On Volt 476, press the button to select each pair of direct monitor sources, which are monitored in stereo by default, and press the Mono button to monitor the direct inputs panned to the center. Connect Volt to your system using the included USB-A to USB-C cable, or another cable appropriate to your system, and power on Volt with its rear panel switch. Use direct monitoring on Volt to hear your live input signals with no latency. Direct monitoring routes Volt’s inputs directly to its outputs, but you can still hear audio from the software. This allows you to use higher buffer sizes when recording while still hearing your live inputs without latency. Direct monitoring notes As with many tabletop interfaces, most controls are on the top panel. Each channel has a good-sized Gain knob for adjusting the input level. Above each Gain knob is a button labeled Vintage for turning on the 610 mic preamp emulation and one labeled 76 Compressor for turning on the 1176 FET-style compression. Watch these videos to learn more about how to use Volt features like direct monitoring, Vintage Preamp Mode, the 76 Compressor, and phantom power.

With the Kemper I struggled. There is no S/PDIF so I had to use inputs 1/2 or 3/4 both for stereo with my Kemper (This would be true with Helix, AxeFx, or any of the multiple devices that still use S/PDIF). Honestly inputs 1/2 sounded bad. 3/4 sounded good but I had to crank the volume on the monitor knob to max - which messed up the Windows audio and made me turn the volume in Windows down to like 10/100. Volt 476P gives you 4 analog preamp inputs — simply plug your mics, guitars, or synths into the front panel. Then connect your speakers or headphones to monitor your audio with no latency. With Volt, you’ll be creating like a pro, fast. Get a 30-day Free Trial to UAD Spark

IN – The IN 1-2 and IN 3-4 buttons route Volt’s hardware inputs directly to the monitor outputs. Direct monitoring allows you to listen to your inputs through the device, without any software latency. Note: The input level increases when the compressor is active, so you may want to readjust your Gain setting. (10) 76 Compressor Presets The excellent-sounding 76 Compressor effect is less subtle than the Vintage preamp emulation. It raises the level and squashes the peaks. You can use it to control a source with a wide dynamic range, but it will probably be most beneficial for the color it adds.

Adjust the headphone volumes with these knobs. The headphone volume controls are independent from the Monitor volume control. With some audio software — such as a DAW (digital audio workstation) — you need to choose the device to use for audio I/O. After selecting Volt as the audio interface for the software, the software can directly access and route Volt’s I/O. Operating Audio Software Extended 30-day free trial to UAD Spark offers an ever-expanding library of world-class plug-ins and instruments for a low monthly price With Volt, you are given access to a carefully selected range of useful, creative and inspiring music production tools that will help you to create the music you've always dreamt of. Where other interfaces may include an overwhelming range of options, Volt gives you exactly what you need to stay inspired and level up your production. Discover plug-ins such as Celemony's Melodyne, a pitch correction software, as well as virtual instruments from Spitfire Audio and UJAM and of course a place to record it all onto with the Ableton Live DAW. Versatile connectivity optionsFor producers on the go, the Volt 276 provides the perfect solution. iOS compatibility allows you to create beats and record your instruments anywhere you are in the world, whether you're travelling between studio sessions or rehearsals or on your tour bus, never miss a moment when inspiration strikes with Volt 476P USB Audio Interface. Tip: Clipping occurs when the signal is overloaded. When clipping happens, the top of the waveform is squared off, creating distortion that may be unpleasant. Clipping has creative uses, but is usually avoided. To prevent clipping, adjust the gain so only green and yellow meters light, and the red LED doesn't light. (8) Vintage Buttons Built-in 76 Compressor adds instant clarity and punch to voice, instruments, and other sources with all-new analog circuit based on UA's iconic 1176 In addition to the Volt 476P interface, Universal Audio include a curated suite of professional audio software. With these tools, you can start recording, producing and processing straight out of the box. Highlights include the Ableton Live Lite DAW, emulations of Marshall and Ampeg amps, Spitfire Audio’s Labs and Celemony’s Melodyne Essential. Connect input sources for line inputs 3-4 here. These are ¼” balanced inputs designed for line-level sources, such as synths, external sound modules, or other line-level sources.

When a new Volt hardware driver is available, the Update button appears in the UA Connect Drivers and Control Panel area. Tip: The Buffer Settings panel shows the input and output latency in the ASIO Status area as you change buffer sizes.

Produce with an essential suite of audio and music software including Ableton, Melodyne, UJAM's Virtual Drummer, Marshall, Ampeg, and more

Use TRS (balanced) audio cables for the best results with a balanced stereo speaker system. Balanced equipment uses three conductor wiring to reduce interference and electrical noise, and to provide better audio quality over longer cable runs. TS connections may be suitable for shorter output cables, where electrical interference noise may not be an issue. Universal Audio introduce two new four-channel audio interfaces to the Volt line-up, the Volt 476P and Volt 4 USB. Both feature the clear and tidy design those familiar with the Volt range will already know, as well as analogue preamps, 48V phantom power, Direct Monitoring, a suite of audio software and iPad/iPhone connectivity. Volt 476P USB Audio Interface

The basic Volt models, the 1×2 Volt 1 and 2×2 Volt 2, come with built-in Vintage Mic Preamp mode, which provides a switchable emulation of the Universal Audio 610 mic pre. The Volt 176 and 276 also include 1176-style compressors on their inputs. Hardware inputs 3-4 are routed to the audio software, but not directly to the monitor and headphone outputs. Line Outputs 3-4 must be specifically assigned as outputs from your software. These can be used for various monitoring purposes.

The indicators above the 76 Compressor button indicate whether the compressor is off (no LED) or enabled on one of the presets. The 76 Compressor presets have the following characteristics:
