I actually like the bottle as well, mainly beacus it is so totally different from all those pretty glass bottles that you usually see on the perfume counter. Even after all the different scents I wear in abundance my Jacket still smells of Sun that I wore 2 days before.

It´s a bit sharp at first but soon dries down to smell like you´ve just come home from a day at the beach. The top 3 voted notes are benzoin, vanilla, and ylang ylang, and this is exactly what carries this perfume from beginning to end. I think I may subconsciously remember someone who put me at ease in my childhood wearing this, explaining that association, or maybe it’s just the scent itself. Everyone and their mother were happily spraying away :D The dry down is even a little masculine with a fresh undertone to it! If you experienced summers in the 90s this is clearly a summery scent and it does smell like sun tan lotion.I can hear La Bouche's Be My Lover song and I became a typical Mediterranean kid who enjoyed seaside during summer school break. What I can’t believe is thet Jil Sander Sun was actually launched way back in 1989 so this has been around for over thirty years! The chalky, pasty several days sweating unwashed body odour, waaaaay too present on high temperature. Thanks to the infinite number of good sensations that it conveys to us, we have a perfect gift idea, with which to surprise and get it right. And I will admit, Sun isn't exactly fresh, however the florals are just bright enough to make the scent feel warm like sunshine, rather than a crackling bonfire.

There's a lot going on here, with heliotrope, ylang, carnation, lily of the valley and rose all suspended in orris butter.I'll wear it on cold days to remind myself that those perfect summer days of freedom and relaxation WILL come back.

When wearing her a beautiful sunny day on a beach comes to mind, a woman wearing a long, white, laced bohemian dress, walking barefoot in the sand, the wind playing with her long, blonde hair - that is Sun to the T. Or when it dries down, it smells like expensive body powder which a 1950s Hollywood star would have used. It smells a bit old school for some maybe but the fact is, it's a very complex and well blended niche quality fragrance which keep selling even almost 4 decades after the launch.I do, however, understand what its campaign suggests regarding the bottle design and its name - I have eyes, but I also have a nose, and mine tells me that this is a mighty, spicy beast here! Jil Sander and Guerlain are my favorite fragrance houses, and Sun is my favorite Jil Sander frag and my signature fragrance. I don’t like having lots of open perfume bottles so I’m always overthinking my purchases but after a long time of wanting this one, I caved and got the full size when it was on sale - but it’s SO awful? It is creamy, calm, radiates light, and has a very soft sweetness about it that adds to its charm and brightness. At first it smells almost like a fruity leather to me, kind of smoky and sweet and the same feeling that Shalimar gives me (but fruitier.
