OH MY GOD, at this point I realised this was the real deal - my imagination was not (is not) capable of making this up. You see all the hurt and joy you brought to the world around you, and every minute detail is explored. One major reason I loved this book is because the author himself was quite skeptical about past life regression early on in his career. It was by accident that one of his hypnotized clients started talking about a past life accidentally that got him intrigued by this practice.I must say that if you are in any way not ready for such a book, then, as with all such spiritual ideas, the contents will fall on deaf ears. there's no mention of religion or dogma, it's just accounts of conversations and the consistencies that the author has found between individual accounts. They revealed graphic details about how it feels to die, who meets us right after death, what the spirit world is really like, where we go and what we do as souls, and why we choose to come back in certain bodies. For those interested in getting additional perspectives, I would strongly recommend the books by Ian Lawton and Andy Tomlinson whose work has followed on from Michael Newton. Many books have been written about past lives, but there has been very scant information about the ongoing existence of our souls as we await rebirth – until Journey of Souls was published in 1994.
