Alright. I did further testing. I was using spotify and I now tested with some flac files instead. Left driver clips as well but not as bad as the right side. Maybe because there are a lot more happening in the right channel in the song. SoundID software has a switch to flip L/R channels and the bad clipping does flip left and right. I can find a lot about the beyerdynamic dt990 250 ohm on the internet and from that I concluded that they are very solid headphones for the price. you do need an amp for that, of course.
