About this deal

Casio now refers to the design as being “ultra-compact”. Previous CDP pianos were, by virtue of the keyboard, of similar width, but the depth, height and weight of the CDP-S instruments have been reduced yet further. Casio claims these to be the lightest in their category. Beginners will genuinely have a blast playing, and more importantly, learning on these two digital pianos. There are three intensity levels of touch along with the Off option. Louder sounds demand harder key pressers and softer one softer presser. The default setting releases sounds depending on the intensity of the force. The Casio definitely has a good balance between portability and playability. The compact form factor also doesn’t make much sense considering the limited connectivity options, so it clearly isn’t meant to be used on stage.

Casio America Inc. can be found at Stand 9502 on Level 1 of this year’s Winter NAMM show, to be held at the Anaheim Conventions Center, California (24-27 January). Casio CDP-S Range: Specifications

Slim body just 232 mm in depth

The keys are made of synthetic ebony and ivory and this has been a common theme here with newer keyboards. Portability The keyboard element of the CDP-S100 comes with scaled hammer-action II technology that feels much more like a grand piano than a spring-based mechanism. As the name suggests the keyboard has a realistically firm feeling that starts out relatively heavy at the bottom and gradually gets lighter as you get to the top notes, just like the keys on a grand piano. The CDP-S100 also features synthetic ebony and ivory keytops making it an absolute joy to play. Following the success of the now-discontinued Casio CDP-130, the CDP-S100 utilises brand new digital piano technology developed by Casio. The end result is a much better-sounding piano withsmoother playing experience - the perfect combination for new starters or anyone learning to play keyboard. Casio CDP-S100 Key Features: I would vouch that the CDP-S100 has the simplest control panel and it is pretty simple to navigate that even children will feel comfortable using them. There are two buttons for function and the grand piano. The other two controls are for volume and power. There are also instructions printed above the keys to guide the user to change the setting. The dimensions of the Casio CDP- S100 are 52” x 9.1” x 3.9” and it weighs approximately 10.5 Kg. Starting With the Keys

The CDP-S100 includes helpful guides on the keyboard to assist with navigation and setting changes, so the main advantage of using the app is that you can always see the tempo of your metronome. Sound Differences: Not much at all. The S110 has a bit of a more natural decay and velocity, giving it a tiny edge over its predecessor. The Touch Then again, for the price tag that comes with these pieces, let’s be glad we’re not getting just 32. There are a whole lot of scores that can be successfully played with 64, even with a bit of layering, This hampers the otherwise excellent playing experience and feels like a sacrifice that ends up hurting the CDP-S100.Put simply, the CDP-S100 is designed to help you learn and love music. Created to inspire musicians of all ages and abilities, this new instrument redefines what an entry-level instrument can do. Casio has previously released a host of digital pianos in their CDP range: the CDP-100, 120, 130, 135, 200, 220, 230, 235, and the CDP-240. The company considers their CDP products to have wide appeal… not just as “entry-level” instruments, but suitable for anyone looking for a good quality portable, digital piano. To add some additional polish to your performance you can add reverb which delivers spacious auditory projection to mimic playing in a large hall. The CDP-S100 even has a dedicated "Hall" button so that you can mimic the warm and rich acoustics of a concert hall at the push of a single button. A chorus effect is also to hand to add some "shimmer" to the instruments. As noted above, P45 and CDP S100 have layering (dual) capabilities. Layering basically means that you can choose two (or more) instruments and hear those when you press a single key. That said, the fact that this is compact may not be as relevant as you’d think. The PX-S series was designed for stage use, hence the portability factor, but I don’t exactly see why the CDP-S series needed the same treatment.
