In a softer move away from the can-shaped Capsule II and Apollo, the Astro is rounded with a mostly matte white finish. There is a built-in parental control section in settings to restrict apps and content using a password. There is a built-in HDMI port, so you can connect your devices to the projector directly, including your phone and games console.

It is fully functional and has been professionally refurbished, tested, inspected and cleaned to excellent condition by qualified sellers. During initial testing, Airplay took around 15 seconds to detect play back, however with inputs and updates, Airplay has improved a lot, worked well for all videos on iPhone, now it takes about 4~5 seconds from the time the airplay is initiated to the time Astro detect / plays back for the first time in the session.

The Nebula Astro projector has a cute cube shape, which is complemented by a quirky monoeye plastic brow ridge surrounding the led lens and motion sensor for the Eye Guard feature. Don't worry about that, as you can control Astro directly from your phone with the Nebula Connect app.

There isnt much dynamic range of course, or heavy bass response, but it certainly isn't a feeble tinny transistor radio sound. That said, you get a better viewing experience when Astro is positioned between 40 and 80 inches away from the projection surface. Astro Shows up as “Misc” on Smartphone for BT pairing on discovery with a pairing number (simply hit pair) , since this was a beta unit, it might show up as Astro for general release units. The res is only 480 but is superb for my van which is why I bought it and I have a 40” drop down screen.

Control the Astro remotely from your smart device with the Nebula Connect app (available on iOS and Android). There are buttons for power, HDMI input toggle, and even a navigation mode that places a controllable pointer on the screen to act as a mouse.
