About this deal

This Joyo American sound is a clone of the Tech 21 Blonde amp simulator. The Blonde refers to the 1957-era Fender Tweed amps. This Joyo sim achieves the tweed sound exceptionally well. But you can also achieve Deluxe Reverb types tones or a Fender Princeton tone by playing with the voice knob. Joyo is constantly adding new ranges and products to its lineup of pedals. However, they have 3 main pedal series which have been around for a while now. These three ranges (or “series”) of pedals include the: I wirden them in parallel to GND, so the Pot contol how much signal is send to GND and the cap sets the frequncy response. The bigger the cap the more Bass and less trebble you get which was exactly what I had in mind when doing this. The Voodoo Octave has three knobs for the effect parameters: Fuzz, Tone, and Volume. It also has a toggle switch that lets you select between Normal and Mid-Cut modes. For those unfamiliar with what these do, keep reading for a brief explanation of the controls. I have been using and testing Joyopedals since 2014 and I can safely say that I am besotted over these cloned pedals and have them on my pedalboard over their expensive counterparts.

These 2 caps are marked as C9 and C15 on the Joyo PCB. C9 is immediately below the top left hand pot (fuzz) in the gutshot in post 1. C15 is below the mid-cut switch and off to the right. These caps correspond to C7 and C12 on the ggg schematic. The space verb is a pedal from Joyo that is not a clone of anything. Still a pretty versatile reverb pedal though. that provides you with 4 essential types of reverb from one bite-sized effects pedal. The Joyo space verb has:Ocatve Fuzz pedals are a strange breed of fuzz. Distortion and Fuzz pedals create upper and lower octave harmonics as part of the distortion that you hear. An octave fuzz pedal doesn't create a pitch shifting effect, it emphasizes the octave frequency at the upper register (or lower in some cases). That's why you can hear the effect better on certain parts of the fret board better than others. The Joyo Voodoo Octave fuzz is NOT an Octavia clone but a clone of the Foxx Tone Machine. Bought it and wasn't really excited with its tone. I really don't understand what goes where in a pedal, but I do ok with a soldering iron, so any ideas for little mods (with easy enough instructions ) are really welcome. I ask the question above, rather than stating that this is an actual clone. The reason is that no such confirmation points in the direction that this is a Zen Drive Clone. The Zen Drive is an OD pedal that produces a “Creamy” tone. And whilst the Tai Chi does something similar, they’re still pretty different in their tonal characteristics. The Graphics on the Tai Chi would lead anyone to believe that this is a Zen Drive due to the fact that the Zen Drive has similar graphics. One thing that is for sure, however, is that this Joyo Tai Chi pedal was designed for a Japanese guitar player as his signature pedal.

Now, this may be a stupid question, but what kind of transistors are on the circuit of this pedal? Could they be replaced with germanium trannies to make it sound like an octaved Supafuzz/Tonebender mkII? Cuz, that would be really really sweet. This is a musical octaver without unwanted glitches in lower notes and chords, allowing you to transform your electric guitar into a 12-string, a bass, or even a church organ.

Modulation is not complete without a phaser effect. What better way of adding this effect to your pedalboard in this tiny enclosure with an array of parameters to play with. It would seem as though this Nebulous Phaser by Joyo is not a clone of any phaser pedal.Another Xotic clone by Joyo. This time, in the form of the Rated Boost. The rated boost clones to ever popular RC Booster by Xotic. This is one of those boosts that doesn’t necessarily provide more overdrive, but rather a boost to your signal. Making pretty much everything you play sound awesome. But i had no diodes at home and it was weekend so I messed around with a Pot and a Cap instead in the hope to give that thing more Bass and there was Bass. So I just bought this pedal and found this forum through lots of searching. I rotated the caps but it didn't make that much of a difference. The octave sounds the same. Its like it just makes the tone more trebly and bitey. I will probably attempt the other swap today or tonight and see if that helps any. The Micro POG is a leaner and meaner version of the classic EHX Polyphonic Octave Generator, redesigned with buttons instead of the eight sliders featured on the original. It allows you to create new tones by mixing together your original dry signal with two different octaves, one above and one below your original pitch. All of these options come in a very durable enclosure and a well-planned design. This pedal’s layout is simple enough to get a great tone right out of the box. With a little adjustment, the M288 Octave Deluxe is capable of pricing sounds for the most discerning players.

bonefish wrote:Ok, I completed the mod and now the pedal will not power on! I guess that means I didn't complete the mod. Anyhow, the ribon cable came loose during the mod and I'm afraid I might not have reconnected properly. Could someone shoot me a pic detailing how those should be connected? Looking at it from the bottom, if you could include the bottom of the button/switch and the bottom of the board, that may be easiest. Thanks! I thought I also saw somewhere that the Voodoo Octave version has had this item fixed as opposed to the ultimate octave version. Can anyone confirm as I would still like to get more octave sound out of the pedal than is currently available. The Joyo JF-12 Voodoo Octave is a cheap octave fuzz pedal, a failed copy of the Fulltone Ultimate Octave, itself based on the Foxx Tone Machine. A bad schematic resulted in some capacitors with reversed polarity which reduced the octave effect, and capacitors with swapped values which caused reduced bass frequencies. Thus it is popular to mod this pedal correcting these mistakes, making the octave effect more clear and restoring the low frequencies. Most will be familiar with the Behringer SF300 Super Fuzz, a clone of the Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz, itself based on the Univox Superfuzz. It seems less well known that this pedal is an octave fuzz, as the octave is less apparent than with most octave fuzzes. Looking closely at the Joyo Extreme Metal, it is quite easy to see that this is pretty much a very close copy of the EHX Metal Muff. The Joyo is enclosed in a smaller casing which could be considered a good thing for many. Both the Joyo Extreme Metal as well as the EHX Metal Muff feature an epic Boost switch which allows you to add more “tops” to your guitar sound. Allowing you to cut through the mix. Joyo Power Tune ReviewJoyo seems to have a secretive thing going on with their delays. Whereby none seem to know what they are clones or what they are based on. This, Time Magic pedal is a perfect example of one of those delays. stevebar48 wrote:… having just bought a Voodoo Octave I would suggest that you get to know it before assuming that it needs modding to make it usable.
