About this deal

Again I’d go down the apply neat and pressure washer route myself. Be careful though, bleaching your boards is quite possible though when that happened to mine the wood oil brought them up beautifully again. Pros: Always do a small test area before beginning any project to assess performance, compatibility and end result. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to use chemicals, a pressure washer, stiff wire brush and some elbow grease may be enough for accumulated dirt. However, we don’t recommend this method if you have mould as it can make the problem worse. You absolutely must treat and clean mould first. However oil can’t be stained or painted over, so if you want to change the finish you will have to strip the oil off first. Need to be careful when applying as you can fade your boards (only temporary until stain applied though) For the best possible results you’ll want a pressure washer but scrubbing hard works fine too. Simply dilute it down a bit if you like and spray it on with a pressure sprayer. A cautionary word that you may change the colour of your timber temporarily until you stain or oil it again. The result is normally something near new. Pros: You might need to keep scrubbing with a wire brush to get rid of the particularly stubborn sections.

Stains are also really durable against footfall. They create a tough layer over the top of the wood so they can cope with a lot of footfall. However, this layer can become slippery when wet. Before I go on though, it’s worth mentioning that your fish won’t thank you if this ends up in the pond nor your kids. So I’d be looking to use this on a dry day. All cleaning residues must be completely washed away to maximise the performance of subsequent coatings When you compare it to the Everbuild you won’t have any issues at all with the quality. Both are up to the job of killing and loosening Algae and mould, taking a fair bit of the strain out of the process. I’ll say it again though, with volume it’s probably even more important – you could do with a jet washer to lighten the load.It protects against the rain and sunshine too, so your wood is less likely to weather and grey and will instead look better for longer. Before you start, you should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for details on how to properly use the restorer. Oil is also really durable and is easy to maintain, you just need to keep it clean and touch it up every now and then. It’s very resistant to dirt and water so doesn’t require much upkeep at all.
