About this deal

I cannot believe i only discovered her awesomeness this year, what have i been doing with my life guys? At about the same time, Stephen's murder case heats up as more victims go missing, and it seems that the disappearances may be linked to Jenna's errant student. The serial killer plot is well done with some excellent twists and turns although a careful reader will find it very easy to identify the culprit. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Karen Rose’s first novel, 2003’s Don't Tell , created something of a stir, with her heroine, Eve Wilson, brutalised, left unconscious – and requiring plastic surgery. This is my second Karen Rose book, the first one being the first of this series, and I've got to say I like her style. There were some truly beautiful moments in this book and I often found myself reaching for the tissues.p>Read about how we’ll protect and use your data in our Privacy Notice. The mystery was dual pronged and nicely layered, and while the perpetrator of the slaughter of innocent girls maybe isn't the hardest thing to figure out early on, the big picture is much less so and the story provided enough twists and turns and surprises to keep me invested throughout. I understand the fact that he's under considerable, agonizing stress raising three boys as a widower and working on a high profile, gruesome serial killer case, but she was nothing but helpful with his kids, caring, supportive, nurturing, and genuine.

It is the second book in the series, and the hero, Steven Thatcher, also appeared in the previous novel,Don't Tell. Sparks fly, and before we know it Jenna and Steven are doing all kinds of ice cream related naughtiness. When Davies shows interest in Jenna, Stephen would like nothing more than to throw the man on the first plane back to Seattle but realises he needs Davies' insight into the killer's mind. His oldest son Brad has become uncommunicative, and failing at school, his youngest Nick continues with issues from his abduction 6 months earlier, and his aunt continues her meddling matchmaking ways. Certainly, the tension here is delivered with similar mastery, and Rose (who was a high school chemistry and physics teacher – education’s loss was a gain for readers) knows how to juggle all the requisite elements in a taut narrative like this. I didn't like Neil much, although he isn't a bad guy, he was just not my cup of tea, and I was constantly rolling my eyes every time he pined for the girl he couldn't have. When a young girl's body founded in a clearing and another girl's body couple days later, Special Agent Steven Thatcher started to think that there is a serial killer on the lose.

But things can always get worse and they do when another dead girl is found and Steven's eldest son, Brad, starts failing in school. And if he can save her, will these two wounded souls allow themselves to find healing in each other's arms? Perhaps it was because their relationship developed rather quickly over the course of only a few weeks, which isn't really my favorite way for a couple to fall in love.I love the way, Karen Rose provided the twists and turned between her characters especially Special Agent Steven Thatcher and Dr Jenna Marshall. These two are surrounded by secondary and ancillary characters that could be neighbors and friends, they're so realistic, and Steven's boys are particularly endearing - especially Matt. This twist complicates an already busy plot and doesn't fit Neil's character as a single-minded cop who's lost everything, (including his wife), over his obsession to catch a killer. It doesn't take long for Jenna to find herself falling not only for Stephen but his children as well, but Stephen seems to be holding her at arms length.

This is a riveting blend of great plotting, fine characterizations and sizzling romance, all of which create the perfect recipe for an edge-of-your seat suspense. On the up side, the thing I really loved about Stephen was that he is a rare celibate hero who actually believes that if he has sex with a woman he better be prepared to marry her, and so consequently doesn't sleep around. Steven can't see a light at the end of the dark, hopeless tunnel that is his home situation, until he meets Jenna. The 'romance' element is almost identical to to the 'romance' element in the other book I read (Gone Girl) and completely unrealistic. I felt that Stephen held back the truth about his first wife from Jenna a little too long, but otherwise, they communicated quite well for two people who had just met and were still getting to know each other. p>The data controller is Headline Publishing Group Limited.
