About this deal

Not a bad thing for those no makeup, makeup days but not so great for those of you looking for a full coverage. PRODUCT PACKAGING: This foundation comes in a simple compact with a little round, flat makeup puff, underneath that there’s a small cap that locks the foundation in so the sponge doesn’t dry out and the foundation soaked into a sponge (hence the ‘cushion’) at the bottom. And even if you were obsessed with make-up, you’d possibly find following her a bit tiring, as she is very intense and can come across as slightly manic.

Aqua / Water, Methyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Titanium Dioxide [Nano] / Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate / Dicaprate, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Trisiloxane, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Magnesium Sulfate, Acrylates / Stearyl Acrylate / Dimethicone Methacrylatecopolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Lauroyl Lysine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Stearic Acid, Alumina, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Lecithin, Isopropyl Myristate, Isostearic Acid, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Adenosine, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Ethylhexyl Hydroxystearate, Tocopherol. Anyway, I mostly wanted to say that as YSL and Vitalumiere are among my favourite foundations, you might like the L’Oreal Cushion as well – even if only as an on-the-go alternative to your favourites. It has a thin, runny consistency so it doesn’t feel heavy or clog your skin even when you build it up. My only reservation is that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of product, and I can’t see it lasting as long as a regular bottle of foundation. I have shade 11, which is a little bit dark for me, however I can make it work by adding some powder over the top. A normal bottle of foundation generally contains about 30 ml of product, but if you lift up the foundation-saturated cushion, there's only a bit of foundation under there. You can’t even really tell you have coverage; it doesn’t have that HD pore/skin blurring effect, it just evens out your skin tone and gives a smoother complexion.

Again, I can live with this – I have embraced my shiny nose or if it really seems too awful, I’ll put some YSL magic on top. One thing that did strike me immediately, however, is how little product you really get with these cushion foundations. A bigger issue is that this foundation doesn't really allow you to mix and match to find your ideal colour and formula. That's the best thing about this foundation, apart from its impressive coverage: it's a great product to use on the go. Brands like MAC and YSL are launching cushion foundations, and Yves Rocher has also started offering a one (the Pure Light cushion foundation).

I would also recommend carrying blotting sheets or translucent powder with you because the glow increases as the day progresses. For combo/oily skin, you probably want to set this with powder because it can look a bit shiny over your t-zone.Zooming in near my jawline, there is a slight colour difference - a bit more yellow than my neck, and a bit darker.
