About this deal

Yeah, leading up to confirmation of L-mount there was a discussion on this. Basically if Panasonic cared, there would be things they could perhaps do. First thing is at least make it so they are electronically compatible (a hybrid between the two systems). Panasonic obviously didn't bother. People have confirmed the MFT flange distance as 19.25 by measuring the distance between the flange surface and the focal plane mark with a caliper. I wonder if anyone has confirmed for the L-mount (problem is looking at pictures it's unclear if the SL even has such a mark)? These are some existing adapters for an L-mount camera. There is also the electronic Sigma MC-21 adapter for Canon EF to L, but it's quite pricey. As is the electronic Leica M to L adapter. The Lumix S series has some fantastic lenses, and two great are the Panasonic Lumix S 18mm f/1.8 L and the Panasonic 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens. The 18mm prime lens is great for low-light photography and creating artistic depth-of-field effects (not so much pronounced though with a wide-angle lens). It has a wide-angle field-of-view, which is perfect for landscapes and architecture photography. The 70-300mm zoom lens is a great choice for capturing distant subjects providing excellent image quality and sharpness. Both of these lenses are excellent options for photographers who use the Lumix S series cameras. Yes. The flange distance of E mount is only 18 mm, less than MFT and therefore impossible to adapt.

The lenses can be used to cover a slightly larger area if the user is willing to accept some vignetting (this requires the user to shoot in Full-frame 5.9K mode and then crop the image in post production to the equivalent of around 1.35x crop) Look closely at the photo's of the adaptor already shown in these thread's, the adaptor sits within the Sony mount with the front face at the correct Distance from the sensor to get infinity. manual focus only. This may be possible for the l mount which has a larger diameter. Essentially it would be the cost of an Olympus MC-20, plus the cost to modify it on the camera side for L-mount.He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, holds a Foundation Degree in Equitation Science and is a Master of Arts in Publishing. He is member of Nikon NPS and has been a Nikon user since the film days using a Nikon F5 and saw the digital transition with Nikon's D series cameras and is still to this day the youngest member to be elected in to BEWA, The British Equestrian Writers' Association. I used the Commlite AF adapter on the MFT - Olympus E-M5 mk 2 and EM-1 + Canon 70-200 / 4.0 and Canon 100mm / 2.0. It worked fine. I have have run a countra attitude and instead of fully embracing L-Mount with a brand new expensive bunch of lenses I bought a run-out brand new Canon EF 5Ds at a thirdof the original RRP and found it almost the same size as my S1. Yet another horse for my very nice EF-L lenses that simply have not lost any of their lustre just because I have kept them for years. Best lenses ever made for EF are nothing to sneeze at and coupled with arguably one of the best dslr cameras made to use them on? One that Canon will never make obsolete and available at a great price.

The LUMIX S1H, S1 and S5 feature both 4K S35 and 3.5K 4:3 anamorphic modes which can take full advantage of the Sirui lenses image circles. Both lenses have an image circle that completely covers Super35/APS-C. In 4K S35 mode the result once de-squeezed in post production is close to the 2.35:1. Using Panasonic’s 3.5K 4:3 mode users can get the anamorphic look while still getting a 16:9 final image - ideal for some TV and commercial users. However I have noticed that Commlite now provide a firmware update port and perhaps they are now much improved.

Sirui 1.33x anamorphic lenses come to RED Komodo and Canon C70 with MTF Services RF-mount conversion

With the support of Olympus for MFT now in doubt and Panasonic seeking to capitalize on an MFT/FF strategy, could the future actually be dropping support for the MFT mount? Could MFT sensors appear in Panasonic's L-mount cameras? Could Panasonic take a similar approach to Nikon, allowing their FF models to shoot in MFT crop mode? While it's unlikely you could cross-mount MFT lenses on L-mount bodies (their flange distances are 19.25 and 19 mm respectively), Panasonic could easily adapt their existing MFT lineup. Addition (FF) : Venus Optics Laowa 85mm f/5.6 2x Ultra Macro APO L, Venus Optics Laowa 20mm f/4 Zero-D Shift L, Lensbabay Trio 28mm f/3.5 L, Lensbaby Burnside 35mm f/2.8 L, Lensbaby Sol 45mm f/3.5 L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Edge 35 Optic L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Edge 50 Optic L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Edge 80 Optic L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 35 L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic L, Lensbaby Composer Pro II with Sweet 80 Optic L, Lensbaby Spark 2.0 with Sweet 50 Optic L, Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II, Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Biotar 58mm f/1.5 II Their original adapters EF-E/FE were not very good, they have always proclaimed that they were compatible with a huge range of lenses - even lenses that few (including Commlite and even Metabones could not afford to buy and test), most likely they will not work well with more rare lenses but so few own them that the sad story will never be told.
