A hugely important part of writing a successful novella is being intentional. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you with the process. 1. Despite their contracted size, novellas can tell the exact same story as a novel. Novels include a lot of extra detail that isn’t strictly necessary to the narrative, but that work to build a deeper relationship with the reader (by drawing them in, convincing them to invest more time, attention, interest, etc.).
