About this deal

I was so sure 1TB Micro SD cards would be more than enough to last me the entire Switch gen easily. About 95% of my collection is physical and I have about 90gb left on my 1TB cards 🫤. Hopefully a 2TB card will be announced soon. The Sandisk Extreme 1TB is an outlier, a one-of-a-kind, one that will satiate, even temporarily, the thirst for massive storage capacity that a growing audience demands. Professionals that require storage on the go will love the flexibility and the performance of this card; price is likely to be a minor factor in their decision process especially when you factor in the time saved from shuffling lower capacity cards around. Reduced Capacity: Another very common issue, where the card will report large capacity to your computer, camera or storage device, when in reality it contains only a very small part of the overall capacity. For example, a 512 GB SD card might show up as 512 GB on your computer, but in reality contain only 16 GB of storage cells. This happens because the microchip (a tiny part of the memory card that is responsible for reporting the total amount of storage available) within the memory card has been reprogrammed to report a different size to the host. Such memory cards are extremely dangerous, because you might never be able to tell that they are fakes until you start filling them up. In this particular case, the first 16 GB of storage might work just fine, but anything past that is going to produce data errors. Counterfeit memory cards with reduced capacities should be avoided the most, because they will most certainly result in data loss. I sorta want that 1TB card as I need a new one (3TB FTW) but even I won’t toss extra money at a card that I can’t see when I can get a regular one for less.

Comparison based on internal testing of SanDisk Extreme® microSDXC™ UHS-l card, versus current UHS-l cards with 100MB/s stated performance. Results may vary based on host device, file attributions, and other factors. Just make sure to give it sufficient time to test sequential write speeds, since memory cards don’t do well with random write operations. If you are using a PC, CrystalDiskMark is a wonderful piece of software to test read / write speeds on any storage media. Sad to think how many uninformed people have wasted money on these thinking their Nintendo system needs to have the Nintendo-branded SD card. SanDisk cards are compatible with Android smartphones and tablets. Capture and Store Even More Hours of Full HD Video. For 64GB-1TB: A2 performance is 4000 read IOPS, 2000 write IOPS. For 32GB: A1 performance is 1500 read IOPS, 500 write IOPS. Results may vary based on host device, app type, and other factors.

Great for Capturing 4K UHD Video.

Don't forget, functionality and price are the two most important things when it comes to hardware, even if it means not getting the first-party stuff. This is the part those mentioning going all Digital seems to forget- it does eat up valuable sd space. If sd became 5-10tb that be no issue but unfortunately sd limits haven't gone that far yet. And not all can afford a 1tb at current low prices even so that cuts out those that would like to get one. I got two OLED with each 1tb and now a TOTK OLED with a 1tb waiting and I'll do the same for the Switch 2/etc when it does arrive as a 2tb would not be feasible in the near future either. Blazing transfer speeds mean that your content moves fast letting you move up to 1000 photos in a minute [32GB-1TB]. Load Apps Faster with A1-rated performance. So what happens when you have a fake / counterfeit memory card? Well, as you can see from the earlier section, the issues can range from getting very slow speeds all the way to data loss and unusable memory cards. Out of all the potential issues, data loss is the biggest risk, especially when a large capacity memory card is used. The problem with fake memory cards with reduced capacity, is that many photographers might not understand that once they go over a certain capacity, all data from that point on will be corrupt. So everything might appear to be working great at first, only to have troubles show up later. This is especially problematic when photographers plan expensive trips where memory cards fail after a few days of use. So the biggest risk one might run into, is loss of data – that’s where you do not want to end up! And having a dual memory card slot camera is not going to help in any way with fake cards, because both will fail at some point. This is why it is especially important to identify fake memory cards and get rid of them. 4. How to Identify a Fake Memory Card

Are you a fan of these new SD card designs? Do you own one of these special Nintendo SD cards, or did you opt for a cheaper card that still does the business? Let us know with a comment below.Buying these cards is the level of fanboism that I don't understand. I got 1 TB Sandisk Ultra, the same one, but cheaper. It sits in the console anyway. The software will fire up another window, which will perform all read and write operations. After everything is complete, the software will report on its findings: Modern devices from smartphone and tablets to digital cameras and game consoles like the Nintendo Switch require storage. Devices with integrated storage typically carry a microSD slot for memory expansion. Custom made and designed products such as flash memory products with custom logo’s on them.
