About this deal

The lid/bowl will also wind up with butter and seasonings all over the inside, but it's easier to wash by hand. The Presto Poplite is our favorite hot-air model; it was consistently able to pop a full half-cup of corn (that's 15 to 18 cups popped) in well under three minutes, with light, fluffy, and crisp results across the board. Only needs 1/4 cup unpopped popcorn, put the cover on, microwave, and in less than 3 minutes delicious tasting fresh popcorn.

With a microwave popcorn maker, you can use oil or not, though adding a teaspoon or so will help get more of the kernels to pop. Instead, we can lounge on the sofa in our PJs and instantly stream a new release or an old favorite with minimal effort. It does an excellent job of popping, but the corners on the lid have turned up slightly and the lid slides over while popping which allows kernels and popcorn into the microwave. My only caution is, if you aren’t sure of the popping time, be sure that you underestimate, rather than over estimate, the popping time.

The vented top of the Stir Crazy's lid acts as a butter warmer, too; you can place slices of butter in it to melt and be stirred into the popcorn. Just in case you were confused, as I was at first, it will help explain how and why the same exact product contains two different names (depending on where you find it for sale at). The other side gives some pretty cool and valuable tips to help assist you and I with making popcorn as perfect as it possibly can be. However, that doesn't seem to be a major issue because it could perhaps be fixed in one of three ways.Air poppers use only hot air and work quite effectively at popping almost every kernel, but you can't add any oil, butter, or seasonings during cooking. For a more traditional popcorn maker, we found that this stovetop model yields a close equivalent to movie theater popcorn—up to 6 quarts (24 cups) of it, in just three minutes. Surprised to find out it’s oven safe up to 400*F, and awesome that it’s dishwasher safe, makes cleanup a breeze. I wanted a fast treat for one, weight watchers friendly, without the chemicals and added oils from bagged microwaved popcorn, or having to have another appliance or air popper in the cupboard or on the counter, this bowl fits easily in the cupboard. On the lid itself is a slight indentation, which cleverly holds exactly the amount of popcorn kernels that will fit, popped, within the bowl (so that I don’t have to use a measuring cup).
