About this deal

She is the co-founder of Soboicar, an oral history archive chronicling the lives of Catholics who migrated from the Konkan to South Mumbai. These women have proved that their gender never stopped them from achieving what they wanted to achieve. What would they have achieved with their qualities, in a different time, in different circumstances? Alia Bhatt begins shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi, shares pic of her trailer:'Look what Santa gave me this year' ". Kudos to her, reading about Papamani only gives me chills, let alone meeting her alone that too in her own area.

Kankana Basu of The Hindu felt, " Mafia Queens, by virtue of its very stark simplicity is a revelation, a rare treat for the discerning lover of crime stories. The book upfront clarifies that in our Hindi films, these women are shown to be show pieces but in real life, they are women of substance who control many things around these gangsters. I felt a lot about Gangubai too--without any fault of her own what kind of profession she got and the life she led.Did you know that the word Mafia is a derivative of a Sicilian adjective, which roughly translates to boldness or bravado. He simply puts forward their stories which somehow fail to get the limelight as compared to their male counterparts. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.

Gangubai Kathiawadi, the matriarch of Kamathipura, who is revered by all sex workers in her area, to the present day. Most of them are wives, girlfriends or mistresses of dreaded gangsters who were forced to enter the world of crime. But the real heroes are Zaidi and Borges, who ventured undaunted into the dark corners of the city to illuminate them. When I look back at those years, I realize that Mumbai is quite a safe city for an average citizen of this hub.S. Hussain Zaidi embarked on his career as a crime reporter, where he honed his skills in uncovering hidden truths and delving into the intricacies of organized crime in Mumbai. The narration of this book has done enough justice, not for a single moment, you'll not feel you're watching a Bollywood thriller. It's tough to remember all of their names but you will never forget about what they did in a segment dominated by men.

k.a Mahalaxmi Papamani, who used to make a profit of around 3lac rupees per month, was equivalent to the salary of a CEO of a company in Mumbai in 1991, was presented and authored by Jane Broges. This work is a well documented account of some of these women who, through their unwavering devotion to their husbands, their desire to pull themselves out of poverty or simply their refusal to let the world's hegemony dictate their path, went on to become almost legendary names. However, I must admit that while reading the story, “The Matriarch of Kamathipura” on Gangubai I truly felt that the story was almost like a screenplay.
