About this deal

Early morning: Some people find that reading in the morning helps them start their day with a positive and productive mindset. One thing that did bug me though was Eloise's parents. I understand that they didn't want her to be taken advantage of by others, but I definitely agreed with Jasper about how they treated her. Whilst they may not have been doing it deliberately, it clearly affected Eloise enough to make her feel like she wasn't enough and even though Jasper might not have expressed it in the best way every-time, it was sweet to see him trying to be on her side. so, the author positions this book like enemies to lovers and it’s not even nearly it. it’s just one-night stand to lover or something like that. but they had absolutely no banter or tension. winslow(h) and griffin(H) both are super boring people and i’m not interested in them or their lives at all. they literally have no personality atp and i won’t even remember their names a week later. there was even a line about their chemisty being “off the charts”.. they’re such clowns.

Jasper was introduced in the last book of the series as the coach to professional fighter, Foster, who is Eloise’s future brother-in-law. He’s a broody, mostly solitary guy who is temporarily living in Quincy while training and figuring out where life will take him next. A toxic relationship in his past has defined so much of his life, leaving him understandably not interested in anything beyond casual hook ups, and that has worked well for him. And then along came Eloise. although no one could possibly surpass foster’s record as an asshole, jasper is a distant second. NO WONDER THEY’RE BESTIES 🚮🚮🚮 the author focused entirely too much on the most insignificant information. i don't think we, as readers, give a shit about how green the grass is or how blue the sky is, and we especially don't care if the siblings breathe or choke. the fact we got more of the siblings and briggs than the main characters pissed me offfffffff. Overall it was a cute romance that I really enjoyed and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Devney Perry books are my happy place. There's just something about them that always feel like a warm blanket on a cold day. Comforting and satisfying. When I need a hit of small town romance with all of the feels and a splash of spice, she's my go to. So I'm so excited to have this new series from her and if book one is anything to go by, we're in for a real treat.Lucy Rivers narration was perfection — she absolutely brought Eloise to life and was 100% the perfect choice! It totally felt like complete acting, she brought her all to this part and it was absolutely incredible! She made this audiobook! She is one of my fav female narrators and I think this is my fav of her performances. Now with that said, I did not love the male narration by Lance Greenfield. This was the first time I have listened to him and I wasn’t really a fan. I think part of it was that he didn’t fit what I expected for Jasper. That’s just personal opinion. From a more objective view, he was easy to understand, but it was almost as if he enunciated too much and it didn’t sound natural to how someone would speak in real life. It sounded very sharp and harsh because of the very clear enunciating. During the day: If you have a flexible schedule, you may find it helpful to take breaks during the day to read a book. Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Winslow and Griffin’s story. Winslow is the new police chief in town and doesn’t realize that her ONS the first night is connected to the most influential family and not the tourist she assumed he was. Griffin thought Winslow was just someone passing through and didn’t want to have the strings that come along with a local. Neither of them want a relationship, so they settle for a casual fling. Winslow has a gut feeling that the string of suicides in the town aren’t what everyone is telling her they are, and she starts digging despite being considered an outsider and meeting opposition. There are some suspenseful scenes, some sexy times, and some big secrets revealed…and they get a HEA ending. I'd get instantly dry. My aversion to cowboys aside.. Griffin actually won me over by the end of this, I just had to picture him in jeans and a normal t-shirt, remove the cowboy hat and boots and we were SETTLED, cause this man has got a mouth on him.

they make her feel like every screw up will make her lose the hotel, which is why she hid the circumstances of her marriage with jasper. her mother even forced her to hire a psycho child, who wasn’t qualified in the first place, who then tried to kill heralso, the plot twist at the end .. absolutely uncalled for??? it turned so dark and grim for No reason whatsoever. it really felt like the author knew the ex scene was boring so she had to throw something in. it felt copied from the first two books, and just deeply unsettled me. An Advanced Review Copy of this book was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. I definitely think that that is the only reason I really liked this book because the romance alone would have not made this a complete story.
