About this deal

In How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Astrid and Valka work together as warriors. At the beginning of the film, Astrid states "Well, we could train a lot harder, for one. That was pretty sloppy." about their mission, in which respect Valka agrees. Later, while flying in the sky, to New Berk, Astrid gasps and says "The Light Fury!" In which Valka replies "She's following us!" They are also shown talking animatedly to each other in the sky, while headed to their new home. Astrid and Valka also help each other when going in to Grimmel's base. Later, Valka tells Astrid that she should go talk to Hiccup to help him realize the truth, which leads to Astrid and Hiccup heading off to the Hidden World on Stormfly. After Grimmel captures Toothless, Valka tells Astrid to talk to Hiccup, which ends up making Hiccup think of a plan to save Toothless and the Light Fury. At the end of the movie Valka is shown at her son, Hiccup, and Astrid's wedding. Valka is also shown standing by Astrid on the cliff after the wedding. Astrid seems to see Valka almost as a second mother, and the two get on with one another very well, both having similar views and interests within both dragons and fighting. You might think that Vikings and dragons have little in common... and you'd be right! But that doesn't stop the dragons and human Vikings from getting along in the small village of Berk. Of course, we totally wish that our town was a little more like Berk. Sure, we have plenty of Vikings around here (we're from Minnesota), but we've yet to witness any dragons hanging out here! Well, we want to change that, which is part of the reason why we've started an initiative to make cities across the world more dragon friendly! It all starts with our selection of How to Train Your Dragon costumes, which are based on the Dreamworks movie franchise. In " Out of the Frying Pan", due to worrying about their allies, Astrid and Throk hatch a plan to go after them with the use of the Diving Bell. With the help of Barf and Belch, they slowly fly down to the entrance; unfortunately, lava shoots out, causing the two-headed dragon to drop the contraption with the two in it on the lava. While they were stranded together inside the volcano on Caldera Cay, Throk did his best to keep Astrid conscious while they waited for timely succor. When help arrived, Throk assisted her into Hiccup's awaiting arms. Strength and Fighting: Astrid has been training since she was a child. She's an exceptionally skilled warrior which has been proven on multiple occasions throughout both the films and the series. She has held her own against older and more experienced fighters. In " Night of the Hunters, Part 2", she was able to fight Dragon Hunters with nothing but a broom. She's presumably the most accomplished fighter among the teens, if not along with Hiccup. Her main weapon of choice is a double-sided axe and she is quite formidable with it. She can also alternate between knives, swords, and temporary makeshift weapons. Despite her slender form and petite size, she has also shown to have great strength to lift heavy objects and is able to even wrestle a wild dragon in " Heather Report, Part 2". She can even grab Snotlout Jorgenson by the arm and throw him into a wall as seen in " Team Astrid".

Astrid was suspicious of Dammen's friendliness and curiosity about Stormfly. She was the only one who really suspected him despite Hiccup telling her Dammen was just being friendly. She expresses hatred towards Dammen after he captures Stormfly and she is restless until she finds him. Cleve • Harek • Ingar Ingerman • Jarg • Lars 2 • Nygren • Ryker Grimborn • Skarsgard • Viggo Grimborn Astrid is Hiccup's second-in-command in the Berk Dragon Training Academy in " The Terrible Twos" and Dragon Flight Club in " Live and Let Fly". Astrid gets along really well with Fishlegs and is able to cooperate with him whenever they are teamed up. There has never been shown any arguments between them except during the Terrible Terror training competition during the episode " Worst in Show". Just like Hiccup, Astrid respects Fishlegs and stands up for him whenever Snotlout makes a jab at him. While Astrid may care for him as a friend, she has also made it clear he is definitely not her type. She seemed very surprised by Heather's attraction to him and in " Big Man on Berk", she was repulsed when he made advances on her as Thor Bonecrusher. It is hinted Astrid was saddened by his presumed death. However, since Dagur never did die, the two seem to be on good terms now. During the events of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Astrid is Hiccup's sole confidant and emotional support. It is even made clear by Valka that she is the only one that can get through to Hiccup. Her relationship with him is even more secure to the point that they are both willing to marry.

The name Astrid means "divine beauty", "divinely beautiful", "God's strength" or "Godly strength" in Old Norse. Toothless and Astrid bond over their mutual affection for Hiccup and greatly appreciate each other's presence in his life. In Gift of the Night Fury, during Snoggletog, Astrid is ecstatic to see Toothless return and reunite with Hiccup. Five years later, in How to Train Your Dragon 2, Toothless gives Astrid a big tongue-lolling smile when she arrives on Itchy Armpit. As he runs up to her, she gives him a loving scratch under his chin, showing they have developed a close and comfortable relationship. Astrid also makes a mention of riding Toothless for Hiccup once Hiccup becomes too busy with his chiefly duties, implying she has flown Toothless before. She first meets Hookfang at the Kill Ring where she tried to protect Hiccup by throwing a hammer at his face. Like the other Riders, Astrid would have thought that Hookfang was a wild and aggressive dragon. Later though, she is shown to bond with him when she switches dragons with Snotlout (" A Tale of Two Dragons"). In " Race to Fireworm Island", Astrid was also very concerned when Hookfang was dying but was relieved when the Fireworm Queen restored his flames. Though Hookfang did try to show some affection to Astrid, she wasn't too happy about it. In "A Tale of Two Dragons", she was, however, impressed with how powerful Hookfang was and also finding the hidden ability of his with Wing-Blast. Astrid also becomes concerned and angry when Drago Bludvist placed his foot on Hookfang's snout. Astrid is the first teen given a real life name with the second teen being Heather. But, unlike Heather, Astrid's name is historically correct and originates from Viking culture.I was just thinking about Astrid. I remember when Hookfang was with the Fireworm Queen, and I was so scared and mad. I mean, I was lost. Completely lost. [src] Teaching: Astrid is shown to be a strict teacher in the episode "Team Astrid" when she attempts to train a new set of Dragon Riders to be a part of her auxiliary team. She puts them under high pressure and holds them to unrealistically high expectations even if they have some prior experience. Astrid also trains Dagur in " Family on the Edge". She is less harsh this time around and compliments him on his skills as well as on the way he had bonded with his dragon. Astrid advises him to use loops to keep the sun behind him for distraction and Dagur later ends up using this tactic against Heather. Vikings' last names according to the Viking culture were composed of the name of their father and then “son” (son) or “dottir” (daughter) depending on their gender. Therefore Astrid's culturally accurate last name would be Hoffersdottir rather than Hofferson. Or Astrid, Daughter of Hoffer. This name system is still used in Iceland and parts of Scandinavia today. However since her parent's names are not known her precise historical surname is not known. When younger, she is short-tempered and somewhat of a perfectionist at times, which is especially true before the integration of dragons. Further exacerbated by her emotional personality, this can lead her to act impulsively and irrationally. In the first movie, Astrid was solely focused on training and the war, often isolating herself and ignoring the other teens. When Hiccup began surpassing her, she grew visibly upset. Fueled by jealousy and suspicion, she started to follow him discreetly, eventually leading her to interrogate him in the Cove. In " No Dragon Left Behind", Ruffnut tries to help comfort Astrid, who was crying, when her dragon is supposedly dying.

In "Heather Report, Part 2", Astrid was able to fool Alvin into thinking she was Heather by disguising herself as her. Alvin noted Astrid seemed feistier than the original Heather was but stayed convinced by the act until Astrid tried to take off with the Book of Dragons on the Monstrous Nightmare she had just befriended. In " Edge of Disaster, Part 2", Ruffnut states that Astrid has no respect for Fishlegs. However, Astrid has not been shown to disrespect Fishlegs in any episode of Race to the Edge so far. It may be possible what Ruffnut said isn't true. In " No Dragon Left Behind", she is seen crying for the first time in the franchise, though she was visibly emotional at different moments in all three films. America Ferrera refers to Astrid as being Hiccup's "number one defender and champion" by the time of How to Train Your Dragon 2. [5]

Dragon Calling: In " We Are Family, Part 1", Astrid learns to call Stormfly and other Deadly Nadders by using a wolf-like howl. In " Edge of Disaster, Part 1" and " Edge of Disaster, Part 2", Astrid was forced to work with Ruffnut and Tuffnut to create more defenses for Dragon's Edge. Astrid was not pleased by this and was further irritated by the Twins' incompetence. Eventually, it got to a stage where Astrid lost her patience and began to berate them. Ruffnut, who was fed up with Astrid's constant criticism, began to scold Astrid for her mighty attitude and ended up mortifying her. Astrid eventually apologized for her behavior and they made up. Ansson • Berserker Guard • Berserker Herald • Dagur the Deranged • Haggard • Heather • Oswald the Agreeable • Vorg Astrid's parents were first mentioned on Race to the Edge, Season 1 and were briefly seen during her wedding in the final movie. Astrid appears to care deeply for her parents and often worries over their safety. In "Team Astrid", she took it upon herself to find a way to protect them from incoming danger.

Our second idea is to actually dress up as dragons. You know, sort of like a decoy! It might sound a little crazy, but if you've seen enough of the movies, you might just have what it takes to act like a dragon. And if dragons see other dragons hanging out in your neighborhood, they might feel a little more comfortable taking residence there. To facilitate this, we have plenty of great dragon costumes based on characters from the movie. That includes Toothless costumes for all of you dragon fans out there, but it also includes cute costumes based on the Light Fury dragon from How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Astrid is one of the smartest and toughest Vikings in Berk. This feisty and fearless young woman is not only a fierce warrior, but an excellent dragon rider as well. She is known for her ambition and is often looking for ways to prove herself.Alexandra Gonzalez • Angela Baker • Carla Gonzalez • D'Angelo Baker • Eugene Wong • Hazel Gonzalez • Jun Wong • Linda • May Wong • Murray • Olivia Kullersen • Pete • Philip Baker • Tom Kullersen • William Rakke Jr. • Wilma Sledkin Benhose • Eret, Son of Eret • Eret's Crew • Ivar the Witless • Kasyc • Meldoy • Nicardo • No-Name • Olavi Kettil • Teeny • Ug Axel Finke • Dak • Duggard the Decisive • Elbone • Finngard Borgomon • Hannahr • Jorgen Redboot • Leyla • Magnus Finke • Mama Finke • Marena • Ottil • Utgard the Unfair
