I think you’ll all know that these past few weeks have seen the Anastasia Beverly Hills Fall collection drop and break the internet. Every shade is beautiful, the highlighter lasts all day and can be applied very sheer or built up to something stronger, and the effect can be surprisingly subtle, but very pretty. The holographic writing is also a big hit for me I absolutely love it and I love Anastasia’s typeface for their products.I’m going to get into the review of this palette, I had very high expectations of it, so I was really hoping it would live up to those high expectations but first let’s talk packaging! So I've been kind of shocked to find myself wearing a highlighter from this or the Aurora palette every single day, and downright amazed to discover that the green is the most flattering on me. Three of the shades have a slight duochrome (very subtle--I think it works on cheeks, but it's hard to capture in a still photo), while the other three are more consistent in color all the way through. I think because people are not used to seeing and don't expect unnatural shades on cheeks, and most people do not look too closely, the blue and green shades trick the eye, and honestly, the impression you come away with is it looks kinda natural.

Anastasia created Moonchild with the face, eyes, body, and even eyebrows in mind, so I let my creativity flourish by swiping the shimmering Purple Horseshoe shade across my collarbones or using a spoolie to brush some of the warm, rosy Pink Heart color into my brow hairs for an unexpected holiday sparkle. I think this next one is so cute – “Lucky Clover” appears white in the palette but it actually has a light metallic green finish when applied.The pigmented formula glides on with a smooth, buttery finish to deliver an ultra-reflective lunar highlight. Obviously like I said I’m not going to drench my forehead in a blue highlighter but as you can see they definitely do have different colours and reflects and don’t have a white base like most other highlighters of this type. I wouldn't recommend this to someone with a deeper complexion, as I think they might pull a bit ashy.

The deepest shade ( Butterscotch) adds warmth and shape to the perimeter of the face, nose and cheeks. So on the right is the real moon child, six subtle pans of highlighting goodness bringing a whole new definition to holo glow. The highlight shades are extremely unique – the colors in the palette range from whites to purples and they actually have a duo-chrome metallic finish! So those were my swatches and I thought they weren’t enough for the full review so I tried to capture the reflects on my face on camera, I heavy handedly applied the highlighters to see how they all pick up on the face whether they have a strong white base to them or not.

I can already tell that the Moonchild Glow Kit is inspiring me to step outside of my comfort zone in regards to makeup, which is honestly amazing. I think it's a really intriguing, versatile palette for those who like to experiment with color and layering with various blushes and bronzers. The biggest issue I had with the palette was that some shades were a little drier/looser in the pan, and of course, these are sparkly and metallic, so they can emphasize pores, depending on how much you apply.
