About this deal

In the near future, a unique disease has swept across the planet: a virus that transforms humans into cats! Its unique take on the zombie genre makes it perfect reading for Halloween, especially for those who prefer their horror to have a B-movie charm rather than being heavy on gore or intense scares.

When the Parasol Corporation 'accidentally' releases the C Virus into Ferret City's water supply, all of the Cat Girls begin dying. This film is a great example of having an idea, shaping that idea, watching it grow and change and ultimately become something truly unique and original.

This manga series continues to be a splendid spoof of Night of the Walking Dead with often times over dramatic characters who find themselves occasionally almost succumbing to the horde of feline overlords. While there was a moment in the first book reminded me of The Mist, there’s moments in this book that remind me of World War Z. Jonathon is also a major anime fan, having been exposed to the medium through shows like Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena. This wild new take on a post-apocalyptic survival tale will make you roll over and purr with delight! Night of the Living Cat is a fantastic manga that perfectly blends comedy and horror into one tight package.

However, a new manga takes the zombie genre in a brave new direction by making the zombies into cats. The item was wrapped perfectly and dispatched same day, it arrived next day and I couldn't be happier. In a zombie apocalypse setting, the things that makes you root for the protagonist is the threat of death and total extermination of the human race, but here it just doesn't matter. But for some odd reason, he has a deep knowledge of cats and their disposition despite his amnesia knocking out everything else.

Due to the way it's written and displayed, I can't feel any care for the mc or his team, the most that can happen is that they turn into cats like everyone else, at this point it doesn't feel like a big deal especially since they all love cats so much, so why bother? If you share your network connection, ask your administrator for help — a different computer using the same IP address may be responsible. The story is even dumber than expected, and the translated dialogue by Nan Rhymer--a veteran translator--is almost as bad. I must say, I had the pleasure of experiencing "A Night of the Living Cat," and it was an absolute trip. But the final scene of this story shows a cat riding a bear down a deserted city street, and there are few things that would better qualify as "jumping the shark", aside from literal shark jumping. It gives the walking dead vibes as expected but absolutely adorable like the prime minister struggling to try and come up with methods to save humanity but yet there can be no harm done to the cats (of course! harmless and adorable as cats and turn them into terrifying killing machines that will stop at nothing to feast on human flesh. I loved this volume so much and once I started it thinking I would read a chapter in between breaks of my novel book, I couldn’t put it down! While I don't want to bring up logic here since it's clearly something of a gag manga, the art style is so serious and gritty and the conversations/actions are dramatic and "real" so that it clashes with the gag feeling and I can't help but think of it. I can't see this having the potential for more than 3 volumes really and I'm surprised that the author still manages to publish it.

Those few survivors who remain human take refuge in the dark corners of the earth as they fight back against the feline horde. Serialized in Comic Garden magazine, Night of the Living Cat, written by Hawkman and illustratd by Mecha-Roots is a brand-new series that flips the zombie apocalypse on its head. Jonathon has always been fascinated by media, from the big hitters to the small, obscure, and often overlooked titles that linger on the sidelines, capturing both the on and off-camera stories that make these shows so fascinating.

In the spirit of Anime, video gaming, and even good old Horror films, (Come back to your roots, Sam Raimi. This is made worse as the cats can spread the virus merely by nuzzling and cuddling, making it very hard to defend yourself against the crafty felines once a horde finds and surrounds you.
