About this deal

That may sound a bit weird and it feels a little embarrassing to say it, but… It’s honestly pretty amazing and tons of fun.

When we reach a forest, for example, where there is no traffic present, I can simply detach him in a matter of seconds and he can then safely ride by himself! But then again the FollowMe Tandem is not something that you can explain in just a couple of minutes. Also, his bike doesn’t have a transmission and thus his speed is limited by how fast he can pedal… Cycling the legendary racetrack “Nurburgring” in Germany together with my 5-year-old son Benjamin. Set the FollowMe adapter up for your kid’s bike’s wheel size by adjusting the slider until the axle extensions fits right into the appropriate intakes while at the same time pressing the tire against the plate at the front of the FollowMe.A small pin that keeps the coupling from folding up while being used (and that rattles around while you ride) has a small metal wire tether.

So if you’re intending on fitting a rack, either for luggage or a rear-mounted child seat, check with your retailer or confirm that the eyelets are situated far enough away from the axle to allow for fitment of the rack. With the body of the FollowMe on the ground, there are two black plastic nuts on what looks like a trombone slider to undo. But they are also really dangerous and cannot compete with the stability and rigidity that a FollowMe tandem provides. Now this is a good thing in a number of ways because if you hit a bump or pothole (apparently they are out there) in a corner it can be unsettling and put you off line. I expect it would have fitted without the longer axle, but I wouldn’t be able to say for certain, I’m afraid.People pull up beside me in their cars and roll down their windows to tell me how great my setup is. Fitting the FollowMe Tandem is reasonably straightforward, though the instructions could be clearer and better translated. It then follows a tarmac track with one steep ascent, and we also did a slight detour to ride along a grass bridleway, ending with an on-road stretch back home. The sense of freedom to ride much more freely than I’ve been able to with the kids in tow has been amazing. After over 7 years and testing over hundreds of bike products, her expertise has led her to collaborate and consult with some of the most respected kid's bike product brands in the industry, including Guardian Bikes, Retrospec, Thousand, Kids Ride Shotgun, and Prevelo.
