The Purina PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets range are only available for pets with specific health conditions and should be used under Veterinary guidance. If signs of allergy or intolerance resolve, the diet can initially be fed up to one year, although it is complete and balanced for long term use where appropriate. It is recommended that a veterinarian's opinion be sought before use and before extending the period of use. PRO PLAN HA is also useful for dogs with severe bowel disease such as IBD as it is particularly highly digestible. Such hydrolysed diets are recognised as the best type of food to use during an 'elimination diet trial' when trying to diagnose (or rule out) food allergy.
