The label states "American IPA" but to me this is more like an English Pale (no offence intended to the Welsh brewers). Rich, malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with sweet and bitter flavours expressed in good balance. A burly, full-bodied texture dipped in caramel and hinting at liquorice caresses the palate while complex, fruity and spicy flavours tease the tongue. We use Isinglass finings (piscine derived) on our traditional cask ales these are unfiltered and non pasteurised and have a residual level of yeast present which is flocculated and sedimented to the bottom of the cask with the aid of the Isinglass finings. The rich malty flavours from the Pale ale and Crystal malts are balanced by the Northdown, Challenger, Goldings and Target hops, creating a Full Flavoured beer with an intense finish.But by spending just a pound or two more, the majority of those fixed costs stay the same, so more pennies are going straight into the stuff you can actually taste, creating a big leap in quality. All of our cask beer use isinglass finings to speed up the process of dropping bright in the cellar. We do not use Isinglass or any other animal derived products in either the production or processing of these beers and are normally considered suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians. It never get too wooden or sweet, which makes it, in my humble opinion, vastly preferable to other UK-brewed English Barleywines, such as Lee's.

All foods are fine within the context of a balanced diet, but this is a good way to get more volume of food for your calories! Aaand there is the aftertaste, mirroring the flavor - right when I assumed flavor and taste were disconnected. None of Fuller’s cask products are vegan due to the adding of Isinglass Finings which includes Oliver’s Island. Feel: medium to full bodied with the alcohol quite well masked, though some alcohol warmth does pierce through. Taste adds spiced earth, nut and floral notes to the mix, sneaky nuanced with warming booze creeping into the barley.Powerfully flavoured with toasted orange and dried fruit notes throughout it has an intense lasting finish. Its aroma leans strongly towards sweet caramelized malts delicately blended with notes of candied fruit. ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Organic Honey Dew on the other hand does contain honey, which to some would not be suitable for vegans. Its condition never deteriorates, regardless of a sometimes less than sympathetic pour (never by my own hand).
