About this deal

offer superb optical performance, fast aperture, with, beautiful bokeh and impressive close-focussing capability. MPB Europe Ltd acts as a broker and offers credit solely from PayPal Credit, a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH. It is the standard lens by definition and you’ll most likely find it inside many a photographer’s camera bag.

As usual, not a surprise coming from Olympus, the great sharpness can be achieved even shooting at F1. The lens barrel is constructed from high quality plastics, with a glossy silver or black finish and the bayonet is metal. Overall, it's very minor -- averaging around 300ths of a percent of frame height -- and something a little post-processing would clear up easily. As I say in the beginning ” I review products on how they act for me as a photographic tool in real-world shooting. When I compare the output at 17mm, I am hard pressed to find a substantial difference between the Pro and 17mm 1. maximum aperture for controlling depth of field and producing selective focus effects, and also benefits working in difficult lighting conditions. It doesn't cost you anything extra when you use these links, but it does support the site, helping keep ePHOTOzine free to use, thank you. Yes we all know that Olympus using a smaller sensor will never accomplish as shallow depth of field as larger sensor format cameras, but seriously, for practical photography, when I was using Olympus system all this time, I never had issues creating shallow depth of field effect to isolate my subjects in my photographs. On the other hand the photo on the market with the three men and the pink bag shows where a faster aperture could (not necessarily must!

Lens, silverWith a 25mm focal length (50mm*) and 47° angle of view, this standard focal length prime lens is ideal for a wide range of photography. I think the Leica is still my main choice as the optics are zero compromise; it’s also something I’ve been shooting with little break since 1989. What I would like to see added are direct comparisons of similar products, once each of the products has been reviewed. They help us to identify popular products and understand your browsing habits so we can display relevant adverts to you.

In fact, the design and overall appearance look very identical, the only thing that separated both lenses apart was the lens barrel diameter size (25mm of course is larger). The normal prime lens space in the Micro 4/3 system has recently become a bit more crowded, as Olympus has finally released their fast normal prime lens, the 25mm f/1. However, the Olympus m4/3, starting with the PENs and now the E-M1 in may ways offer some of the Leica M goodness; the equipment is small and unassuming and the Olympus prime lenses have wide apertures, fast and silent focusing and are tiny. Below is a photograph taken with the Fisheye Body Cap Lens on an OM-D E-M1, by dear friend Jackie Loi. The images were almost straight out of camera, with slight exposure (brightness/contrast balance) tuning and white balance tweak.
