Pretty much the healthiest way to eat any cooked food, our Plastic Intellisteam Food Steamer opens your meal times up to a new world of crisp veggies and flavourful food. Before I dive into my review however, let’s talk about why an electric food steamer is a handy device to have in your kitchen.Eliminating the need for multiple cooking processes, the intelligent, multi-programmable timer and three cooking compartments mean you can easily prepare a fully balanced meal in one appliance. Credit is provided by Novuna Personal Finance, a division of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. It works by filling a central chamber with water (quite a lot) where several elements heat up underneath each section. The horizontal design not only locks in nutrients and flavour, but also means no contamination between compartments.

I use wholegrain rice most often and have found that using the steaming method helps the rice to absorb all of the water and puff up nicely. We have nicked named the Morphy Richards Intellisteam steamer “the nuclear reactor” for that is what it reminds me of on the worktop.The best solution I’ve found is to transfer the food into a colander before serving to let any excess water drain off.

The 3 individually controlled cooking compartments mean that you can easily cook the components of a healthy meal all in one. Now don’t get me wrong, I love steamed food and appreciate all the health benefits of cooking with less fat, sealing in nutrients etc. Probably if you gauge the water quantity required for cooking better you’d have less left afterwards but then I’d be nervous about it boiling dry inside. It’s made up of the base which holds the heating element, controls and water tank, with a separate drip tray that sits on top of this, followed by the main tray where all the food is placed.

There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Steaming is the best way to maintain nutritional value and flavour in your food, especially vegetables. As you can see his looks a bit more golden than mine so probably I’d be more generous with that syrup next time.
