I still plan to keep using airtags on the bikes (3 of ours have them so far) but they’re maybe not as useful as they were. The only difference I could notice was a difference of about one foot when using the 'Find Nearby' feature, which doesn't really make any odds when trying to find your bike – unless it's a very, very small bike! Having an airtag on show and accessible to destroy/remove seems to reduce the effectiveness to a very low level.
The biggest challenge with using an AirTag on your bike is finding somewhere safe, secure, and discreet to put it. If the AIrTag was not yet detected, I walked slowly towards my bike with my phone held in front of me until the tag connected and became locatable. Quick and easy to mount, no additional tools required, my favourite mount in this list and one I’ll be using with my bike moving forwards. A Torx Pin screw would have been preferable to a Phillips screw for securing the AirBell, as it would make it harder to remove if a thief became aware of the AirTag’s presence. There are many different bottle cages, some have a convex back which naturally slides into the WOO, pretending it’s a single piece. If you don’t want your AirTag to be noticed and removed if your bike is stolen, it’s a good idea to silence your AirTag.From personal experience, my fork was worth more than the frame when I had my bike stolen, and a fork is much more generic therefore quite likely to be sold. You fit the mount to the bike using a couple of security Torx bolts, so you can't use a Torx key to remove them. The Woo Holder will fit underneath your bottle cage and is supplied with long security Torx screws to hold it firmly in place. Bought it somewhere around the end of last year if I’m not mistaken and just installed it yesterday as my new bike just arrived.
