Sure it's not bad, not offensive shampoo scent but I have so many others fragrances that would fit the occasion instead of this. this took a while to grow on me; the musk didn't sit well in my nose at first, but after letting it macerate it definitely calmed down a bit.
I also think younger men could pull this off more easily -- as the masculine element is playful and casual.I tried giving it to my boyfriend, but he feels the same - it is fine, but there are better choices out there. When I first heard about this scent I was super excited as I love sweeter colognes but this is just way too sweet during the opening. Then it turns into amber vanilla with bergamot (although I might miss it if I didn't see it in the notes). I would even go so far as to say I will probably avoid any recommendations from anyone who enjoys this. The opening lasts a good 3 hours and can be a bit suffocating, but then it settles into a delicious sweet musky vanilla with a bit of the original tang -- and that's when I like it most.

I do have jasmine wisp and I think this is similair, but this is certainly not a replacement for jasmine wisp. Amber Oud Gold is a fruity, melony type of scent that really makes you feel happy and good whenever you wear it.I get the Amouage comparison but their incense smokey notes are best in class and this is not there. It's pretty strong, the sillage is formidable but the performance isn't anything like what some reviewers are saying. The smokiness overpowers the cheap fruity notes, resulting in the smell of crappy incense from the mall. The good thing about having owned this perfume (a gift), is that now I know to avoid anything that’s been even remotely compared to Kirke/Erba Pura as that scent profile has been ubiquitous in recent years. With perfectly blended ingredients, the scent produced is impeccable and will soon become a favourite Amber Oud Arabian perfume. Al Haramain lists the differences as instead of gourmand notes there's now sweet notes and the addition of cedarwood and myrrh, which I think is accurate.
Perfect for both women and men, this fragrance was carefully crafted with top notes of Bergamot and Green Notes, middle notes of Sweet Notes, Melon, Pineapple, and Amber, and base notes of Musk, Vanilla, and Woody Notes. Either way, this is a nice, fresh, bright, clean fragrance that lasts all day and gets me tons of compliments. before you mash the sprayer on this is akin to getting in a Corvette and saying to yourself, “Self, how fast could this possibly go? Musk and Floral notes dominate the heart, transcending into a long lasting base that is comprised of Woody and Ambery notes. My mom is very sensitive with scents because it could easily give her a migraine, but she liked this one a looooot!
Well-balanced with fresh bergamot, fruity melon and pineapple, and a woody base, accentuated by musk and vanilla.Its perfect for the hotter days but because its a sweet scent, in the fall or winter it will not be washed out by the cold air like most of the fresh scents.
