About this deal

Cocchi Extra Dry is an extremely elegant stand-alone vermouth with fresh apple, melon and white flower notes from the wine, beautifully balance with the aromatic botanical notes of cardamom, wormwood, coriander and angelica.

To mark the 120th anniversary of when Giulio Cocchi first made vermouth, the production of Cocchi`s original Vermouth di Torino recipe was resumed in 2011. It has quickly become one of the top-of-the-range Vermouths most chosen by the best bars in the world. This Storico Vermouth di Torino follows the regional tradition of using fine Moscato wine as its base, which is then infused with a secret recipe of local and exotic botanicals. The aromatic profile is characterized by Menta di Pancalieri, a local variety of peppermint, and lemon, traditionally used to garnish vermouth in our region. Ricetta Piemontese”(Piedmontese recipe), stated on the label, is a very precise indication of the content: all the relevant ingredients for this vermouth come from Piemonte and have a strong bond with our region.

Born and widely spread under the royal court of the Savoy, especially from the end of the eighteenth century, the Vermouth of Turin is now considered the undisputed heritage of the Piedmontese. It comes with a great history, too, being the made the official drink of the 18th-century Italian royal court. Produced using fine Moscato wine as its base, which is then infused with a secret recipe of local and exotic botanicals. Vermouth di Torino is a collective heritage of Piedmont, which sees in the royal Savoy court as first big promoter of a product which, mainly starting from the late XVIII century, generated a flourishing industry which led Piedmont to become the Kingdom of Vermouth. Cocchi Extra Dry was developed to enrich, with its inimitable character, classic cocktails such as the Martini or the Bamboo (40ml Cocchi Extra Dry stirred with 40ml Dry sherry, garnished with lime zest or basil leaf), but it also shines when served with tonic water (elderflower tonic is our preferred choice), soda water or sipped over ice. Delicious neat, with ice and lemon zest, but essential as a base for the creation of the most classic cocktails, from Negroni to Manhattan. With its amber colour and unique flavour profile, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino is the perfect way to elevate your cocktails to new heights. To be fair I should try a few cocktails and mix it up but I don't hold high hopes it will be a regular in my bar nor would I want to mix only to pour down the sink. It has an amber-brown colour and very clearly further away from the wine it´s based on than say, Chazelettes, Dolin or Quintinye. Vermouth di Torino is a collective heritage of Piedmont, starting in the late XVIII century in the royal court of Savoia and spreading to the four corners of the world in the XX century. Fruity cherry and menthol notes mingle with stewed raspberries, orange peel, earthy liquorice and subtle savoury herbaceousness – touches of tarragon and bitter leaves.
