Due to a back injury and resulting surgery from professional snowboarding, Marissa has struggled to find a sleeping pad that worked. However, the Pack-Away Cot is narrow enough that you can hit your elbows if you move your folded arms to the side, or your knees if you try to curl your legs while sleeping on your side. Our last metric focused on how durable each cot is, which is responsible for the remaining 10% of the total score for each cot. Guests slept happily on the cot, and I would even sleep on it when my dad visited and stayed in my bedroom.

In an attempt to lure my dog into hanging out with me while I worked, the very first thing I did was set up the cot in there for him.We weighed them, measured them, studied their fabrics and components, and also evaluated the overall construction and design of each product. Regardless, it's one of our all-time favorite sleeping solutions when camping, and we would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a top-tier cot.

Breaking it down is equally easy, usually taking less than five minutes once you have the hang of it. We both initially grumbled about the fact that we had to sleep somewhere other than our bed, but honestly, I got just as good of a night’s sleep on the nights I was on the cot and I’m an extremely fussy sleeper.While the air mattress is the most important part of this cot (especially with fancy marketing features such as AirTight®, ComfortStrong™, and Double Lock™), any replacement queen-sized air mattress should fit into the mattress sleeve on the frame. The air mattress tends to lose a little bit of air during the night, so if you're using it for more than a night, be sure to top off the air. However, the amount of force it takes when assembling or disassembling this product gave us some cause for concern, as we could easily see it leading to a pole snapping or tearing the fabric. The KingCamp Folding Deluxe is plenty comfortable, but it's a bit on the narrow side and doesn't offer the same level of uniform support provided by other cots we have tried.

The house had no closets, so a cot that I could fold up and slide behind a couch or under a bed sounded appealing. In March, when the coronavirus pandemic necessitated switching from in-person to phone appointments, my therapist asked me if there was a place in my home where I might be able to replicate the classic therapy-couch setup in her office. It offers tons of support for both back and side sleepers and doesn't have any bars across your head or feet to hit during the night.The ability to slide your legs over the side of the bed in the morning to sit up and get your bearings makes for a much more pleasant experience. Camping should be about enjoying the outdoors – the fresh air, the multitude of stars, quiet, and solitude – not a sore back and awful sleep. A sore body (especially in chilly temperatures) can make getting up out of a sleeping bag a chore even for the young and nimble. The cupholders in these tables are great and the tables seem sturdy enough for small items (think keys, phone, flashlight, etc), but due to the simple attachment point on the bed frame, I would caution against resting anything too heavy on these.

Unfortunately, this cot doesn't pack down to be the smallest and is a bit on the heavy side, so you will probably be restricted to car camping or similar when using this product. A zipper running much of the length of the top of the bag allows for great maneuverability when packing the cot away. We did like that the Coleman Pack-Away Cot takes up a rather small footprint when collapsed, occupying an area roughly 6" x 6" x 40". They aren't too cumbersome to carry for short distances so long as you aren't carrying much of anything else. Depending on what else is on your packing list, you may not have room for such a large luxury if you are in a smaller vehicle.The only complaint I have is that it is heavy and I'm not sure if everything will fit back into the storage bag. Unfolding the frame is a one-man (or woman) job, but if you have an extra set of hands to help, it’ll save you some initial awkwardness. This also means that it's worth double-checking that the legs are spread to their full extent before tucking in for the night. The main body of this cot seems like two of the Pack-Away cots stuck together and can be unfolded in just a minute or two.
