The first day and night the shelter was excellent providing cover from the rain and wind for a cooking and eating area in camp.

For garden parties, play parties, and even for setting up to provide a touch of shelter from a raining day while gardening or building, it was great. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, keen bean (like us) or a complete newbie my reckoning is a heck of a lot of us will be pitching tents this season and I think a fair few usual no goers might very well be converts after being faced with it as an only option for a little holiday this year. I needed no help and the mechanisms for extending the legs were smooth – I have pitched similar where you need someone at each side as it goes up or it collapses and the difficulties in actually doing it need a heavyweight champion strength to achieve it My 10 year old could have done this with no issues and it felt strong and safe – at no point was I fearful of nipping my fingers!It is reassuringly sturdy, with the very strong frame linking together well and being very quick to erect, as long as you have someone tall to do the centre piece at the top! It also survived strong winds but we had to use stronger pegs than were provided for the feet and make sure that the guys were used and tight.

Although we're not usually ones to pick out any one item from our back catalogue of reviews, we have to say that one of the best things we were sent this summer was the portable gazebo from Aldi's Camping Range.
