About this deal

Float along to a smorgasbord of samples, flavorful beats, and quirky soundscapes, in this celebration of individuality, creativity, and utter joy. The pair didn't just use those samples as hooks or drumbreaks -- like most hip-hop producers had in the past -- but as split-second fills and in-jokes that made some tracks sound more like DJ records.

Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by hip hop trio De La Soul and was released on March 3, 1989 It marked the first of three full- length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. It features guest spots from Grian Chatten, Lianne La Havas, Confucius MC, assia and Kevin Abstract. Rappers Posdnuos and Trugoy the Dove talked about anything they wanted (up to and including body odor), playing fast and loose on the mic like Biz Markie. The artwork is bloody awful, sorry, but was it photocopied (badly) from an old copy with the saturation maxed out?

Record sleeves were very clean on the inside and easy to take out unlike my copy of De La Soul is Dead (repress). Sucks that a lot of samples had to be cut/changed (Cool Breeze on the Rocks is absolutely GUTTED), but you gotta do what you gotta do.I know Cool Breeze is only a 48 second track, but it showed some excellent sample cutting DJ skills and was a favourite of mine.
