About this deal

Private Practice' has a little more finesse in the production than their other efforts and represented a new commercial peak. Une fois vérifié qu'on aime ce genre de pub rock viril, sans emphase mais sans subtilité excessive, on peut foncer tête baissée, ça fait du bien par où ça passe. Milk and Alchohol - Another Lowe penned tune about a disappointing night in LA at a John Lee Hooker concert.

I have finally welcomed this cd into my collection having had it in vinyl for years but could never get the volume I wanted and needed on my primitive timetable. There are a few good tunes but wow, unlike the early years of the group, this is not a album you put on and listen to in its entirety w/o wanting to skip a few tracks. The album peaked at number 41 in the UK Albums Chart on the 7 October 1978, and remained in that chart for five weeks. Sugar Shaker' and the instrumental 'Greaseball' are not much worse, but the cover of 'Let's Have A Party' is limp.Their preceding single release, " Down at the Doctors", which also appeared on Private Practice 's track listing, topped out at number 48 in the same UK Singles Chart.

From the pounding opening classic track "Down At The Doctors" through to "Milk And Alcohol" and the great "It Wasn't Me" it was like welcoming back an old friend.Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). I think there are possibly one or two weak links on the cd hence the four stars rather than five but I note in other reviews what I class as weak links are regarded as strengths so the bottom line is this is a must have. Every Kind Of Vice,' like 'Milk And Alcohol' is Dr Feelgood at their post-Wilko best, lean and mean. L'essentiel du rock et là, dans ses riffs de guitare d'une efficacité sans faille et dans cette ligne de basse on ne peut plus jouissive.

Their cover of 'Things Get Better' is gentler and features some beautiful guitar work from John Mayo. Some user-contributed text on this page is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License; additional terms may apply.
