About this deal

I would much rather the front of the lens were bigger if it meant we had those features of the wide angle lenses.

The 9 blade rounded aperture makes a really smooth and creamy bokeh, but the blades are only rounded when wide open and it seems the foreground bokeh still has a little shape when wide open. I just wanted to finally say thank you for your insight and beautiful examples of the Medium of picture making. In Dutch we say ‘lekker’, meaning something like: good, fine, joyfull, something that closes your eyes a bit, brings out a smile, gut feeling (food, sex, a walk on the beach, the perfect fitting pair of jeans – lekker. may be tempted to upgrade once they see there’s not a great deal of difference in out-of-focus rendering between f1.

With memories of hauling around big SLRs and zoom lenses, it is a delight to mount this small prime lens onto one of Fujifilm’s X Series cameras. Even Sony's much more expensive made-in-Thailand Zeiss lenses are merely thin metal vanity shells over plastic, and nowhere near as well made as this Fujinon lens. It's unlikely you have any 43mm filters, so you will need an adapter ring or a separate set of filters to integrate this into the rest of your system — but that's only if you use filters. The XF35mmF2 R WR also uses an internal focus system that is combined with a stepping motor to produce quiet, accurate and fast autofocus - a must for all photographers that need to capture a spontaneous moment.

I still use full frame for my professional work, although I have an X-E1 and recently purchased a lens adapter for it. I have also used the XF 35mm f/2 R WR extensively during our travels on the Fujifilm X-T1 and Fujifilm X-Pro2 cameras. Now all my questions are answered and my decision is made, I’m getting the new lens without a single doubt. It allows you to create images that seem you were close but in reality you are not that close to the subject.

The weight and size differences are insignificant in my book and it comes down to optical performance.

Something that will play on diversity, and give the photographer a choice depending on the task at hand.Apochromatic lenses have special lens elements (aspheric, extra-low dispersion etc) to minimise the problem, hence they usually cost more. Some lenses, especially smaller ones like this will get some strange color ring patterns or will handle some colors better than others resulting in hue shifts.
