The design is simple but smart, the setup process is fairly straightforward (and, mercifully, doesn’t ask you to create a user account), and both cameras are fairly compact.When hardwired to my vehicle’s battery, the dashcam can also record and hopefully thwart any potential break-ins while I am away. The GPS in the Halo Pro can pinpoint your location on a map visible in the app and track your trips.

Having the GPS facility all in the app was really helpful as I normally run the sat nav through my phone when on long journeys.I had a very old dashcam previously and only front viewing and had an accident from the rear a few years ago, so for me this facility is a superb addition. The Halo Dashcam boasts a large open lens aperture meaning it can let lighter in for better all-around footage, especially in lower lighting conditions. For me the knowledge that is I was to be in an accident the information I would have to send to the insurance company would definitely take the stress out of making a claim.
