About this deal

Although they are worlds apart I find that Eau Majeure is kind of like a conceptual olfactive art piece in a similar way to Lalique's Encre Noire but this time the theme is sea water!

Only good point is performance is good , I get a decent 4-5 hours but even then you get that metallic savage smell which unfortunately I hate. You may not think they are suitable to give as a gift, but they are perfect for your personal use (or perhaps for non-discerning family and friends). Ambergris (sea notes) gives it some density and saltiness without overdoing it (no excessive "egg smell").That said, it seems to me that L'Eau Majeure D'Issey crossed the line and abandoned the roots of the classics of the line Pour Homme (traditional, intense and sporty) and decided to fit in the pattern of oceanic scents. I'm surprised some reviews state that this smells like Invictus or the future (even those two statements are contradictory). The legs on this one seriously are detectable 2-3 days after (2 or 3 sprays on the wrist) even after showering and swimming. It opens up with the vigour of sweet mint and watery notes, which quickly fades into some bitter bergamot and grapefruit rind.

This is more the west coast of Ireland watching huge waves roll in to batter the green coast, smashing against black rocks in an autumnal shroud of dark cloud than the sun beating beating down on France's Cote d'Azur in the summer time. Where Pour Homme is a diffuse transparant citrus, Majeure is a diffuse transparant salty marine scent with a silky-woody base. The mint note disappears within 5 minutes, the marine notes and the bitter accord of grapefruit, take over the scent for the better part of the duration of the scent and the mixture of cedar and cashmere on the dry down is prominent.

I have to agree with some of the points people have made about it being a typical 'current smell' but it's still a nice scent and its better than a lot of the other synthetic sickly aquatics on the market I.

I agree with those who compare L'Eau Majeure with Invictus, but Invictus is just 20% of the scent that gives it modern structure. As the sun goes down, someone starts roasting marshmallows over the fire adding a somewhat dissonant sweetness to it all. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. There is a really strange gut wrenching metallic saltiness going on in this and it is loaded with Calone. You’ll see even bigger discounts on brand new products throughout our clearance section, which have a few cosmetic imperfections, but only to their packaging.
