I don't like the taste of black licorice but the blend of the star anise with the sweetness of the vanilla and the spicy vibes is really nicely balanced without being aggressive. My adoration for Loverdose was so instant that the sample was almost immediately gone and a full bottle was purchased (and another after that :P). Sadly, if your skin turned like mine, against all spices (such as pink pepper or star anise) then you should try it first.

I have to admit, I tried this with a spray of pink sugar and in a few hours it developed into a nice powdery pink sugar smell. The licorice compliments, rather than overwhelms, leaving you with a powdery, slightly spicy vanilla cloud sprinkled with anise. Unfortunately, I can't enjoy this perfume for a long time, as my skin just eats it up, and sillage is on the weaker side, this would definitely be one of my fav perfumes if it would last a little bit longer and would have a larger projection as I find the smell so alluring.

If you don't like licorice, then this fragrance is almost definitely not for you because the licorice note is very strong, as is the vanilla note. It reminds me so much of Viva La Juicy or Katy Perry's fragrances or any other cheap candy coated juice. The show frolics on for several hours, creating a thoroughly enjoyable, raucous, and attention getting spectacle, quite irresistible actually. I think the reason this one feels so warm and inviting is the way the Vanilla interacts with the amber and the woodsy notes.
