Combining a complementary selection of velvety, pressed powder eyeshadows from pale brown to cool bronze and jet black, the essential palette allows you to create a range of looks that add subtle depth or bold definition to the eyes.I love all of these looks, but the one I go back to over and over again is the top left: the silvery, soft smokey eye, built on Verve, Pistol and Blackout: works equally well with a barely there pink lipstick, as with a bright orange one.

In terms of what you get with it I was impressed with the doubled ended brush – a fluffy crease brush on one end and a flat brush on the other, I can see myself using it a lot. With six taupe-hued matte eyeshadows in total, the Naked 2 Basics Palette has a cooler tone than the original Basics Palette, and suits a variety of fair, olive and darker complexions. I’m sure there will still be a flurry of you queueing up to your hands on one when it is released in January. With the glittery shades you do get some fall-out, but what I like to do to get it off my face is taking a sticky tape and pick up the glitter with the sticky side (obviously) and it removes the little glitter specks perfectly. But thankfully I was able to salvage some of it so I pulverized it, added a few drops of rubbing alcohol and let it dry…lol.As I mentioned in my Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Review, it's becoming increasingly necessary to do this type of side-by-side comparison post as the "naked" palette eyeshadow phenomenon keeps growing. In the same vein as the full-sized Naked 2, Naked 2 Basics is a cooler, taupe-based palette compared to the Naked Basics.
