I'm not a huge fan of "fresh" or "light" fragrances (which Cavallier is known for), but I can see where BPH has its cult-following. This fragrance fits perfectly well for people that lives in a very humid/hot climate conditions, as I do. The problem with reviewing Bulgari Pour Homme is that it's so hard to articulate what makes it unique and special by describing the notes.

After trying Wood Neroli, I was excited to try another Bvlgari fragrance because even though I didn't like the smell, I had to admit the mixture and weight and everything else was perfect. It reminded me of the vetyver in Encre Noire, way toned down and very well blended with some nice stuff. I get a whole lot of tea and grapefruit which is very light and lifting, on a warm day when I catch a whiff of this it is calming and enjoyable. The amber and tonka in the base of this composition give a gentle kiss of sweetness to round out this fragrance. For me, there is always a reason to wear something particular from Cavallier that's always just right for the occasion, and there is an air of class to his work.poor use of tea note, it just seems out of place here when I can smell it, it works but it doesn't and I really wanted to like this one.

Now with these absurd reformulations turned him into an odorless water, I almost feel no fragrance in it . Not only for how it has stayed the course over the last two decades, defining and setting the bar for men's elegance and style; but also for its uniqueness, considering its time and contemporaries, and subtle balance of softspoken luxury with graceful sensibility. Either way it’s still a 10/10 scent so I won’t be disappointed if I screwed up and they’ve brought it back.I think this would work well in the European late spring / Early Summer in warm but not hot weather. It would certainly work for some younger men and even women, but I think this is a long-lasting, distinguished pleasant scent. Almost a dead ringer for montblanc's "Starwalker" with just a touch less citrus and a hair more sandalwood creaminess. As many have noted here, it has an amazingly natural and delicious top note, and the base note is an exquisite combination of musk and sandalwood with a hint of cedar that is the closest thing to a true, classic musk ever.

The effect you get when you spray is instant glory: calming and confident altogether, but not in a defiant, "look at me" kind of way.Give Bvlgari Pour Homme a few sprays when calm and relaxation are the first and last goals of the day. To me this is vetyver just a hint smoky, with some herbs way in the background, mainly tea, an illusion almost of guaiac and nutty vibes and a pinch of pepper. It's not unpleasant, but I don't really smell any of the listed notes—and not in an artfully blended way. Clean, smooth, classy, aromatic, elegant, very pleasing indeed, sophisticated, rich and classy without being cocky, safe and stylish scent for all introverts who don't want to overly boast about what they wear or offend anyone. I'm sure this review won't be true to the current formula, but hopefully it can help if you find a vintage that wasn't well taken care of.
