Be sure to watch your rivals to determine which goals they are pursuing and where you can outpace them! As the number of players increases so does play time, but not that you'd notice - it still feels quick as the increased complexity means you will need longer to think about your turn! The game has variable setup, but it’s really the player interaction that makes the game different each time you play. On a turn, players will play one action card from their hand into their discard pile and do what it says. DLCs for Concordia: Digital Edition includes 3 proper expansions with new game modules and 3 map packs.

They place a good token in each province matching the most expensive good produced by that province.I decided to give it a shot after Michael from Meeple Like Us said it was his favorite game on the podcast and I am so glad I did. In addition to these actions, there’s the Tribune, which allows players to pick up the cards in their discard pile and get money (and pay to place a colonist in Roma).

Each player starts with two colonists, one for land and one for sea, one of each type of the games 5 different resources, a small amount of money and a personal deck of cards. I absolutely love this game and I’ve played this at all numbers and it plays beautifully (especially due to the double-sided board). This is an incredibly fine line to walk, and while my gut says that Gerdts has pulled it off, my head knows that I need to play it more before I can know. The addition of expansions helps alleviate this, providing additional content, mechanisms and much needed variety and the fact we have all of them coming shows a real commitment to development of Concordia digital and should be commended.Meaning, if I put a house in a province that has goods that Bob wants to generate, then I also get goods when he plays a province card. Below is a brief summary of the game, followed by my opinions on whether it lived up to my expectations.

And dare I say, with how many games jump on whatever bandwagon theme of the moment these days, Concordia’s theme actually felt like… a breath of fresh air?I would highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a mentally stimulating Euro game that can be equally enjoyed by avid gamers and beginners.
