There it is combined with the finest malted barley, twice distilled in traditional, direct fired, copper pot stills and only the lightest and best fractions of alcohol are collected to be filled into the finest Spanish Sherry oak casks and lie maturing over many years. A red wooden box designed to recreate the iconic Glenfarclas warehouse doors is presented inside a classic tertiary box. It is today one of the few distilleries in Scotland which remains owned and managed by one family, the Grant family.Today, the Glenfarclas spirit still lives strong and continues in family ownership under the direction of the 5th generation, John Grant. This single malt highlights the beginning of a new era as Glenfarclas now marks 180 years of production since its establishment in 1836.

Glenfarclas can trace its history back to 1836, when tenant farmer Robert Hay founded the distillery on the Rechlerich Farm, on the Ballindalloch Estate in Banffshire. This 6th generation family-run distillery famously remained open during the whisky lull of the 1980s at a time when many distilleries had to close their doors.

A delightful texture and flavour on the palate, it finds itself among some of the best truly rich and indulgent whiskies.
