At then end of the turn, players will refresh their hand from the Draw Pile, ensuring that they have the same number of cards that they initially started with. Each player adds up the total value of their herd by counting the points of each goat in their hand. If the Discard Pile has more than five goat cards, then it may be shuffled and used as the new Draw Pile. Every time you win a duel or play a successful action card, your goatherd value goes up, making you more likely to win, but also a target for your fellow Goaters.

Because it is a silly game, no one should get too upset when your stack gets nuked by an unexpected action or two. When you play a pair of goats, they won’t be worth but so many points, as the goats range from five to twenty points, most of which are on the lower end. The creators have certainly shown lots of creativity creating a game that's so entertaining and amusing! Each of the many goat types have different point values, you will fight for the highest point values.

The included directions make it seem challenging to figure out but I watched a video on how to play which explained it well. Gameplay continues until a player reaches one thousand points or until the group decides it is over. I only took off one star for this (when normally it would be at least two stars off) because this is clearly supposed to be a silly game. You do so by stacking pairs of matching goat cards in front of you and stealing opponent’s goats before the draw pile runs out. It’s a quirky little game that revolves around the cut-throat world of stealing goats from each other.If players cannot complete any of the above-mentioned actions, then they may discard a card and draw a new card. they both love the game, love stealing stacks and particularly love winning the 'mega stack' through careful playing of action cards or wilds. Knowing how to play your cards, when to hold ‘em, and who to attack greatly affect how many points you end up when the last goat is played. This game is much more fun to us than Cover Your Assets and the action cards and art work play a big part in that assessment.
