About this deal

There are no immediate motives for the crime, but when Rizzoli discovers that Suarez was guarding a dangerous secret, everything changes. It was great spending time with Jane and Maura, as they are immersed in the brutal murder case; however, I have to say Jane's mom, Angela was my favorite character in this book.

All in all, Listen to Me was an excellent read and I hope the author doesn't wait so long between books next time! While having read the other books in the series is recommended because they are so good, it isn’t necessary and you could also enjoy it as a standalone.

Beneath the surface level of the mysteries, this is also a book about mothers and daughters, and the lengths the former are willing to go to for the latter. However, her unhesitating heroic action probably saves a life, and she provides light relief interludes from the main story. I picked one aspect of the solution from about the midway point, but this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the ride to the end. Each chapter is told from either Jane, Maura, Jane's mother Angela or Amy, the girl who was hit in the hit-and-run accident.

I have loved coming back to see these two again, they take me back to a time when I first started reading thrillers! It is told from three different points of view: Jane, Angela, and a young woman named Amy who was the victim of a hit and run. Only the supertalented Tess Gerritsen can meld multiple storylines so successfully while she keeps the twists coming, the pages turning, and the blood spray arterial. But Angela's convinced there's a real wolf in her vicinity, and her cries might now fall on deaf ears. But, when it all came together, it was somewhat underwhelming and pretty standard and straightforward, with unnecessary subplots that had nothing to do with anything. On the plus side, this wasn’t about a serial killer, had a carefully constructed plot that kept me guessing, and was easy to read without excessive gore.

A retired attorney, he is an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law and Entertainment Law at the University of Texas at Arlington. Absolutely first rate - readers will be thrilled and delighted by this new Rizzoli and Isles outing! If you’re wondering about Maura Isles, she is all business and helps nudge her pal Jane in the right direction as well.It almost broke the concentration every time mother got involved but as the story continued you could feel where it was headed.
