About this deal

Weather-sealed construction guards the lens against dust and moisture for working in harsh environments. I never had the intention of putting you on the defensive but to open up your thought process to the information addressing your conclusions. The camera, lens, plus a tripod (for high res mode, for still life an architecture) and a modest flash setup is going to deliver impressive capability in a kit that will mostly fit in what counts as the second (small) piece of hand luggage on many airlines.

You may have seen my photos in various exhibitions, on the Internet and many Czech and foreign magazines and books. For the most part, it’s a major struggle between what people want, what they really need, and what they can afford. While this lens was never going to be a bokeh machine owing to its F4 maximum aperture, you can absolutely get some subject isolation depending on your distance to subject and focal length.

second shutter speeds allow me a lot of room for creative photographic execution, such as light trails along a highway.

As a result, the DOF changes by a factor of two so that the same DOF as F4 25 mm m43 is achieved when on FF 50 mm F8 is used. Better still: for traveling the equivalency goes against FF, as maintaining wide DOF is critical if you are to go through these photos 10 years later. But what sets it apart from all other zooms in similar range is it's amazing corner to corner, "flat field" closest focus sharpness, corner to corner at f4. The page is divided into four logical segments – numerical rating | practical observations | sample of published photos from a given lens | FAQ, where you can find my brief responses to questions I received. You say the Tamron distorts less in the real world than the Olympus which, in the real world, said distorted pictures would never make it out of the camera. With respect to the size of a kit consisting of this lens and the E-M1 MK II, I agree it goes against the ethos of Micro Four Thirds, but I also think it is best judged in terms of the ratio of total capability to total weight.

The Sony A7S III review sample gallery contains pics taken with that Tamron, and it is nowhere near the optical quality of this Olympus. Therefore, instead of three lenses (12-40, 40-150 and 300), I finally set on a path with two lenses (12-100 and 200 mm).Yes, a bit more reach would be good occasionally but I wouldn't want a lens any bulkier and not sure I'd like the f4 limit for gloomy situations. with my original E-M1, and the sensor is still noisy and the results are mushy (I downloaded the raws and played with them myself). which was another dog and I got it replaced with a new another dog, but Olympus Singapore have though accepted to have an extra look at it again).
