The 'D' series mounting flange is used by Neutrik for a wide variety of connector types including male and female XLR’s, 3-pole jack socket (A and B gauge), recessed RCA (phono), ‘Ethercon’ RJ45 data connector, USB, Firewire, ‘Speakon’ loudspeaker connectors and recessed BNC sockets. The memory has the same max speed (say, a governor) it can reach, but the c16 has better torque and gear ratios.
Neutrik 'Speakon' loudspeaker connectors must be used with 8-way and 12-way panels or alternately spaced (horizontally) with blanking plates in 16-way panels (see above). I only game on this computer, and if there ever comes a situation that 32GB isn't enough I'll probably have to get a new CPU with DDR5 at that point, so the future upgradeability from 2x16 isn't relevant.The most likely way to get that is with 4x8GB kits, because most 8GB sticks these days are single rank. Canford has expanded the possibilities further by offering a further range of connectors and switches mounted on insulating mouldings which fit the 'D' series cut-outs.
How many physical ram sticks doesn't matter, how many ranks each stick has does, you want a total of 4 ranks. I'm trying to learn to be able to look at those memory kits and be able to say "This one is very slow memory" and "This one is good fast memory". So unless you are going to be doing rendering and CAD work, you aren't probably going to see much or any real benefit of 4x8 vs 2x16.
These are suitable for all 'D' series housings and will accommodate Neutrik 'opticalCON' chassis connectors fitted with gaskets and Neutrik 'Speakon' sockets, both of which require a larger cut-out separation than a 16 way panel provides, see Canford Tailboard And Wallbox Termination Panels - Angled - Audio - Unpopulated. All panels are fitted with a cranked lacing-bar for each row of connectors giving easy access to the rear of the connectors. Maybe the board or the CPU's IMC simply doesn't like this kit, it has some timing that Intel really dislikes.
Recess rack-mounting brackets are available to recess panels within the rack, see Canford Rackbracket - Recess mounting brackets. Quad channel is only available on server and prosumer CPU/board combos, so dual channel is what you've got, which means two sticks is what you want. They have an open back, with internal corner-plate screw fixings and are fitted with punched 19” rack strip. If a larger number of custom populated panels or non standard metalwork is required, this is also possible.
