About this deal

This is a great set: I love the range of minifigures (although I almost want a non-preloved version of Benny – a typical Blue Space man. It would also make sense to have a successor to Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship SPACESHIP which was one of THE standout sets of the 1st LEGO Movie. I myself used some spare lego bricks to add on to the ship and built it up to what you see in the second picture. See above for a comparison of an original Classic Space blue minifigure in very good condition, one that has lots of wear on it (notice the white moon), Benny from The LEGO Movie 1 and lastly, Benny from The LEGO Movie 2.

Element wise, this set has the requirement soft a small space sets: wings, a slope, some steering wheels, small wheels for the vehicle and the ‘wheelbarrow handles’. I mean, it's been over four years now, and it sounds like they were fully aware that they'd pushed the limit.

I have no idea how this happened, even though I have the Razor Crest, this is stll the set I most use and toy around with.

I'm in what looks to be a permanent dark age, but I still enjoy writing about the stuff related to our site, even if not LEGO itself. If you’re new to LEGO, this is a nod to the fact that chins of Classic Space LEGO minifigures often snapped due to a design flaw (and mostly heavy play) and for a lot of fans, their minifigures often had the gold on their torsos wear away, get scratched or have it turn white from age/play. When the LEGO Movie 2 sets were revealed, Benny’s Space Squad stood out for reasons that drive any seasoned LEGO fan into a frenzy, the re-release of two classic Space Minifigures AND perhaps the biggest surprise of all, the introduction of a new Pink Classic Space minifigure into the LEGO canon. It’s one of the most anticipated sets so far, so without further ado, let’s jump into a short review of 70481 Benny’s Space Squad – featuring Lenny, the new Pink Classic Space minifigure! It took a couple of years, but LEGO finally cracked the secret to printing money – start selling what is essentially a Classic Space battle pack. Lunar buggies produced during the earliest years of Classic Space always included red wheels and that might have been an interesting feature here, although light bluish grey wheel hubs are more consistent with the broader colour scheme so probably look slightly better. This makes it easier to remove a seated minifigure from the plate, and when you least expect it, you realise that you can now sit two of the space squad on the buggy at any one time. Where exactly are you going to put all of them, 2700 sets, even small sets, would take up a lot of room?
