On a turn, the active player first rolls the die (and resolves the action of that die roll), and then the player takes 3 actions. Chill cards have inspirational, charming quotes from Ross himself on them – and his smiling, avuncular face (and famously fluffy silhouette) is everywhere on the components. Once 2 or more paints are in an area, they are considered “mixed” and cannot be used, separated, or removed individually.

You will score one point per paint color used in the feature PLUS any bonus points shown on the place where you put for feature marker. However, I’d be truly grateful for any support that you could offer – and it’s easy to do so at either of these links: Ko-Fi. It’s not something that’s going to require deep thinking or tons of strategy, but if you came looking for a Bob Ross game to include that, you really don’t get it. So, I didn’t know what to expect from the game when I first read about it, but as with many of my friends, I was enchanted by the mere idea of a game using Bob Ross as a main thematic element.

I don’t know that I’d recommend everyone purchase it because of the ease with which you could recreate it on your own, but for those looking to add a little bit more theme to their gaming experience, this is a good pickup. When my friend Ric told me that Bob Ross: The Art of Chill was one of his top 5 games of 2017, I struggled to take him seriously. Not because there’s a ton of variety in the game, but because it’s a simple game to pull out and play. There’s enough going on with this game to keep everyone engaged while not being overwhelming to new players.That being said, when I look at the game from the flipside, there are a few things that I wish the game had for the casual gamer. The game is simple enough to pick up for most folks, and while I think the scoring can be a bit convoluted for a non-gamer, it is this system which generates enough of a game to satisfy the more experienced crowd.
