About this deal

When I got home I turned engine off and fired back up to check (engine at full temperature by now) and it started fine and light didn't stay on. Yes, that is connected to the fuse number1 (behind panel near drivers knee, top left 10amp) You will get a flashing hold light if the fuse has blown, or if the fuse isn't making proper contact. There is also a sensor on the crankshaft, but I gather if this goes wrong the car will refuse to start regardless of whether it is warm or cold.

Coming back we pulled out of the services and I let the other half drive, we went to move out of 1st lane, flipped DSG paddle to get a little power and all hell let loose.Even though most FWD cars have the engine cross-ways and no mechanical fan on the front of the engine itself. Nope, it's the glowplug light, had that one myself when my LB died, easy one to check before going down the diagnostics route. I only stayed with a Skoda because I liked the petrol Karoq and my local dealer (Vindis, Bury St Edmunds) well looked after me through all my car problems. Employed when the ECU hasn't got a more specific light available to indicate the actual fault it has detected. You just put the clamp end on the pos battery terminal then put the other end on the end of the glow plug.

Yeah to echo what ppl have said, its usually an electrical fault to do with the Cruise/Traction conrol and Braking system. Pulled off again, turned engine off, all seemed fine, left it in DSG most of way back and took it steady. I changed my fuel filter last month, car was built May 2012, Date on the fuel filter was 4/4/2012, so it had never been changed, it should ahve been chnaged several times at services.

The controller detects that there is an excessive control deviation in the quantity adjuster OB3 (N146). When this happened to me it was the EGR valve that had failed and had to be replaced along with the cooler as well.
