About this deal

She has matured and her actions and general behaviour now match her age, making the whole experience a less frustrating one. Karin Slaughter is the author of more than twenty instant NEW YORK TIMES bestselling novels, including the Edgar–nominated COP TOWN and standalone novels THE GOOD DAUGHTER, PRETTY GIRLS, and GIRL, FORGOTTEN. The other characters by and large are pieces of work, really awful excuses for human beings but they do make for immersive reading. Their teacher at the time was Dean Wexler, who took Emily home one night from a party where she was incoherent. As the two women move towards the finale, the intricate dance of their journeys is tangibly interconnected even over the decades separating them.

Sadly, by the end of the evening, she became the victim of a brutal attack that leads to her death, with the perpetrator remaining a mystery in the intervening years. She is an interesting character, but there were too many references about what her school taught her, she seemed not up to speed for such a high-profile case. Now Andrea has been tasked with taking another look at the events surrounding Emily’s death to determine if enough evidence can be found to charge him. Her first assignment as a Marshal is to help protect a judge, Esther Vaughn, Emily's mother, who has been receiving credible death threats.IMHO, better than the first, Pieces of Her and for the murder mystery, you don't need to read the first. False Witness is so suspenseful, it's tension palpable, and the action so visual, I can't wait to see its brilliance in film. I read Pieces of Her in 2019 and I remember thinking reading more books with Andrea and Mike in it was something I was down with. With the Judge succumbing to cancer, her husband severely disabled by a stroke, and Andrea detailed to guard them after the Judge received death threats, it seems like there's no better time to find out if her own father, Clay Morrow, is guilty of murdering Emily.

The judge, Esther Vaughan, is currently at her summer home in Longbill Beach in Delaware, the same town where Andrea’s father grew up.

There are a multitude of skeletons in cupboards that will be discovered as Andy’s investigation continues and it makes you wonder how different things could have been if people had just been willing to put the truth out there.

At the beginning of ‘Girl, Forgotten‘, Andy is just about to graduate as a US Marshall, much to the chagrin of her mother. The author is brilliant at switching between the two at just the right moment to leave you wanting more from both characters and timelines. You know that the book you hold in your hands is going to hit all of the marks of character, plot, storyline and setting. Clayton had always been one of the main suspects as both the father of her baby and also her killer.Firstly I would like to thank netgalley for a copy of this book to read,And Hapercollions,And one of my favourite authors Karin Slaughter. This intriguing detective crime thriller is told between 1982 and present day and narrated by Andrea and Emily. Her stand-alone novel PIECES OF HER is in development with Netflix, starring Toni Collette, and the Grant County and Will Trent series are in development for television.

Andrea is well aware of the Emily Vaughn case after learning of it twelve months ago and has been haunted by it ever since. Almost all of the side characters in Emily’s narrative were awful, hideous human beings, which made her narrative particularly difficult to read.

She’s joined the Marshal program, much to the disapproval of her parents Laura and Gordon, and has cultivated the skills and instincts she was previously lacking.
